Radin Mas: past 3 years all distances confirmed seat for phase 2B. The last balloting was in 2014 for SCs >2km.
So u take a risk if your child was born in a hot year (eg SG50, SG51). And be warned it is a very academically stressful school.
Fairfield: Let this one go, too risky. 2013-2016 balloting for SC 1-2km. 2017 suddenly no balloting for all distances phase 2B but I don’t know why. The former principal (who was excellent) has left. Maybe the new principal is not as good. Or they have cut down the number of PVs taken in. Just guessing only. -

Thanks for your reply! My child is 2013 and I am so upset w myself now that the deadline for Radin Mas is over! Took me so long to decide whether to do parents volunteer and now I have to re-strategize again :((Zandy lim:

The next thing you can do is to look at Phase 2C which schools are near your place which are acceptable to you. PM me if you need some suggestions. -

Oh that's so bad..might be too many applications?dear mummies and daddies..
I have applied for PV for Horizon Pri Sch(punggol),but was rejected
was not given any reason why we were rejected..my hubby and son is SC whereas i'm a PR frm msia..anyone encounter this before?
I'm considering to apply for PV at Horizon also. They only require one year volunteer right? My kid 2014, registration for P1 at 2020. So I just need to apply next year right?
And is their application first come first serve basis? I saw this for Mee Toh, not sure whether Horizon also this case or not. -
Any idea if both parents can combine to clock 40 hours? Or only strictly 1 parent?
Thanks in advance. -

Some schools allow, other schools don’t.Any idea if both parents can combine to clock 40 hours? Or only strictly 1 parent?
Thanks in advance.
[But no school will allow grandparents or maids to clock the hours on your behalf] - I dunno why during PV briefing the person in charge had to point this out. But since they say then I point out here for public to see also

I would now need to prepare for the application of PV. What would be a good way to promote myself? What kind of research work I need to do? Is it lower chance for working mum to get the PV slots?
Thanks in advance. -

Thanks in advance.[/quote]It is just like writing a resume with cover letter. You can modify from your work resume template. I customized a bit to make it relevant to what skillset a school could possibly need, eg if you’re good in English, offer to help out with reading to the kids. If you’re good with any sport or music, offer to help out with PE lessons or music CCA. Or if you’re comfortable with public speaking, maybe offer to give some assembly talks about: cyberwellness/good eye care/careee guidance...
For working parents, practically speaking, you gotta be prepared to take half-day leave or take a few hours off from work each session. Best if you have flexible working hours. State it clearly in your application, so that the school knows you have a concrete plan.
Good luck! -
Thank you so much zac's mum! Now I have a good head start of how to write. :thankyou:
