If need to , I wet a rag n use my feet to wipe the floor with clear water abt twice - fast n quick one

I use the clip/lock on 3M with handle. Change one for bedrooms; one separate for kitchen & small makan corner; one for living & dinning. Once each cloth used and rinsed, just hang up individual cloth for drying. The mop handle not affected, just rinse. I leave the cloth to dry till next cleaning. Easier than traditional mops, coz no place to put entire mop for drying.

This is more like “ dry” mopping
I bought scotch one for my mama place
But once a week -I need wet wet mopping with 4 pails of water - I like the cold clean feel fr the marble floor & wood floor after a wet mop.

I have the 3M clip lock. Service yard will not have tap to wash mop. I mopped the floor today as it is sticky and dusty. Then I was wondering where to hang the mop to dry. Looks like I would have to use the common toilet. Will put a clip lock in the toilet tomorrow.
Used 4 pails of water to mop the entire flat...no joke. 2 pails for living room, 1 for kitchen and service yard, 1 for rooms.
Thanks for all the valuable input. Lots to learn and adjust living in the new place. No point doing big cleaning since it will be dirty again after movers come in.

Hubby said I would not be able to cope when I get older.

Hmm..the floor will be dirty again after the shifting. I did one round of mopping before the shifting.

Then one more thorough mopping n cleaning after the shifting. It took me a week to finish cleaning the furniture etc after shifting.
I m still unpacking n arranging my barang ever since the shifting last april..very slow hor...very reluctant to store the things in cabinet n drawers. There is still smell despite i hv put charcoal , dehumidifier etc ...

I had someone clean the cupboards, wardrobes and windows.
With so many boxes around, I am trying to do another round of disposal and also to facilitate space for movers when they bring big items in. Saturday, I aim to clear more things. Hubby will come back to old place to see what is left behind. I think I would need 1 week or even more to settle down.
Trying to keep service yard clutter free.

happy call is good with lids closed. Whenever I feel like having 'big' cooking. Then I will need wet tissue to wipe first, else larger space gets oily after stepping around. Most time, quite alright so I wont be too bothered, just use the rag to wipe the water splashed on floor near basin.

I didn't know you'd consider it as dry mopping coz for me, to finish cleaning a room, I'll unbuckle the mopping cloth to wash in the pail of soapy water for the next from. Like what u'll do with the usual mop in the stick, except that u hang the stick of mop, whilst I unbuckle & remove mopping cloth to hang dry. To me it's still wet mopping. Guess diff interpretation?

Agree. I'm aging very fast now & feeling more exhausted esp helping PIL with cleaning since MIL's op. Had to get SIL to take over now that I'll be away till end June.

Consider getting a LT part-timer fr a reliable source. But I just noticed in other thread on PT helper's that cost work out to double a stay-in helper. Yikes!

When do u need to handover the hse to new owner? Ya the pl would be dirty again after the movers shift in the big items. I cleaned all the furniture after the shifting coz the truck they used fr transportation was quite dirty. Used this opportunity to spring clean
i engaged cleaning svr but realised it was not thoroughly cleaned. There were still dust in the drawers n windows. I took out all the drawers n shelves, cleaned n sun. Used a lot of disposal wipes.
It took us abt a mth to clear all the things in the old hse. We planned our renovation, shifting shui shui but at the end, still emcountered many hiccup.
Take one step at a time. We old oredi…cannot act hero n do everything at one go. I used to be a kan cheong spider…nw i learn to relax n accept imperfection. My living n dining areas still look like a warehouse.
Still trying to figure out hw to arrange n store my barang. I like to shop ard daiso, japan hme n ikea to hunt fr containers, racks. I am very slow when come to keeping n organising n labeling my barang
