From observation of my children's primary school cohort , it is possible to score full marks for Maths right up till primary six. While I was busy playing the word game, SA1 is over and results out!!! :!:
This is efficiency indeed living in Singapore.
Here are some observations after 3 exams:
P1 SA1
Honeymoon exam, all subjects full marks seem possible even with Oral
P1 SA2
More serious exam, score full marks for 3 papers still possible but getting tougher.
P2 SA1 onwards
Languages impossible to score full marks anymore with all components added up, only Maths possible.
Is this true of your school?
I've not seen perfect scorers for English from primary 2 onwards. You are right. It is due to components such as open-ended comprehension and longer cloze passages which are not easy to score. Moreover the composition for pr 5 and 6 is out of a total of 40 and scoring 35 is considered excellent work already. Likewise for Chinese.
For Science, it is still possible to score full marks at upper primary but the numbers are very few , like 1 or 2 - unlike Maths.
Very stressful to aim for perfect scores leh.. -
From my observation, math is still possible to have perfect score.
For sci, up to pri three is still yes.
For Eng lanaguages, high 90s still possible up to pri four.
Again, it depends on school. -

science possible to get 100 if you have the science tips and facts at your finger tips. I watch dicovery channel national geographic channel and history channel on my free time instead of those junk cartoons or movies. I think it will improve science
Ruyu, You're such a motivated student - sure to do well. Have to buck up for English, otherwise, hope you can sew up your DSA so you have less to worry about. Auntie over here give you a pat on the back. Hope your (RI) dreams come true! -
My DD1 in P6 now; as I remembered, P1 work/exam seemed easier last time. She got full marks for all 3 papers in P1.
Now my DD2 in P1 and her classmates can still score full marks for chinese and math; but english is almost impossible to score full marks especially comprehension - theyโre not allowed to "lift up" the sentences from the passage .
I think math is the only subject that some students get full marks all the way to P6. Essay - very difficult to get full marks. English, Chinese and Science - possible to get as high as 98. -
math science is relatively objective subject. so possible to score full marks.
any idea when the Meet-The-Parents will be?
and can share what to ask / to do during the session? -
csc:
True la..I agree  But I think at foundation level like P1 and P2, the teachers do expect them to score full marks. The full-marks culture is quite pretty rampant at lower primary I find so I am wondering when this will cease.. Thanks for sharing.
Very stressful to aim for perfect scores leh..

Joy:
Thank you Joy...so it seems that the trend is quite consistent...first year they launch a subject, there is a good chance to get full marks to boost confidence in the subject as they likely test straight forward stuff. From my observation, math is still possible to have perfect score.
For sci, up to pri three is still yes.
For Eng lanaguages, high 90s still possible up to pri four.

Thanks for sharing ningy...it looks like now English also more challenging for lower primary due to the comprehension. My DD1 in P6 now; as I remembered, P1 work/exam seemed easier last time. She got full marks for all 3 papers in P1.
