it's quite heartache to be balloted out...but some feel if they don't make a go for it, they are not doing 'justice' to themselves staying so near...but can you imagine 34 kids will be going to bukit timah primary under 2CS?
What about the 54 SC (all <1 km) balloting for 20 places at NYPS? It doesn’t make sense at all. If you don’t get it, you are only left with Bukit Timah Pri.
wonder why MOE didn't update the website. -
I asked a question earlier but didn’t get any answer so I shall try again:
1. How to waitlist? Go down to the school, 1 person or 2 person?
2. When to waitlist? After 2cs or 8 August can already?
3. If u waitlist another school and got it, what happens to your spot in the first school (if there is no waitlist in sch 1)? Is it just left vacant?
4. Does the school you waitlist at give you a number or entirely up to their discretion?
Thanks. -

I don’t think the SCs who paid much to buy or rent a place near NYPS will be happy with a BTPS place. Just illogical for them not to have a better backup plan.
You make it sound like 一个是天,一个是地. Where got so bad.Tetwsf:

Ah, this is the allure of Nyps. I have heard from the grapevine nyps pri2 and pri3 sure can transfer in one. Provided you have tried before in ph 2c and some other things you have to do. Private school have their own rules. There is more than meets the eye.

1. How to waitlist? Go down to the school, 1 person or 2 person? 1 person
2. When to waitlist? After 2cs or 8 August can already? on 8 aug immediately after u get the SMS evidence
3. If u waitlist another school and got it, what happens to your spot in the first school (if there is no waitlist in sch 1)? Is it just left vacant? if u got it, go sign the paperwork at the new school first, then u take the evidence & go inform the old school that you are vacating the spot. It will go to any waitlistees, or if none then left vacant until somebody wants to transfer in
4. Does the school you waitlist at give you a number or entirely up to their discretion?
Entirely up to their discretion how they want to dole out the seat
Thanks. -
Thanks to all. Now I wonder if anyone knowledgeable can produce some ranking of leftover ph2cs schools in order of reputation? Would be useful for all members.

She’s from NYPS. Should be under Phase 2A1. Safe from balloting this year.
NYPS not girls school?
Not girls school. She is alumni but the father is foreigner I’m not sure if that affect. Anyway they can afford private if needed.
P1 registration based on the child’s citizenship, not the parents. -

Dragon year phase 2C(S) will also be very competitive hor.
Your best choice for 2C(S) is your nearest school. Within 1km if available.
No sense applying for a “reputable” 2C(S) school at the other end of the island from your house.
