Did you realize how many flats they just built all around this school?

But New Town Pri is just a bus stop away from Queenstown pri. Why the contrast n not the numbers not distributed evenly? No idea leh.. *shrugged shoulders*
Most of flat near new town being torn down for en bloc. Many ppl shifting out. Queenstown many new families pay over $500k for flat, it’s next to mrt and they don’t drive, aiming for the school downstairs walking distance. Even the kindergarten over subscribed.
Have u attended QTPS Open House?
Do u have any frens' children studying in QTPS?
Nope I didn’t attend. I’m stating the facts based on myself for 8 years living 50m away from qtps and yearly seeing more and more young family move in and filling up the kindergarten and primary school. I don’t know anything about the school just the demographics. Thanks
No wonder. QTPS PSG has put in alot of hardwork to sch programs. It's better than I would hv imagine previously.
The teachers are very committed in helping students of all abilities.
Their established programs for children really open my eyes to QTPS. E.g. Junior Achievements, AmRead, CCA trials & various PSG events.

While you are right about more condos & BTOs coming up around QTPS, every parent can choose the sch of their choice. They can move (buy/rent) 1km of popular schools. This area also has one of the most expensive HDB resale or BTOs flats in SG....

Btw... I'm one of those parents who lost APS ballot & I can say now QTPS is doing a very good job. Cheers 🙂

And also I notice almost 90% of the students walk to school. No private cars so you can infer mostlh living very near.

Try to lookout at the large HDB carpark besides QTPS. It's always full (b4 dismissal) and we parents must struggle to find a parking lot. There are many eg BMWs, Mercedes & Volvos too. :boogie:

I asked a question earlier but didn’t get any answer so I shall try again:

1. How to waitlist? Go down to the school, 1 person or 2 person? 1 person
2. When to waitlist? After 2cs or 8 August can already? on 8 aug immediately after u get the SMS evidence
3. If u waitlist another school and got it, what happens to your spot in the first school (if there is no waitlist in sch 1)? Is it just left vacant? if u got it, go sign the paperwork at the new school first, then u take the evidence & go inform the old school that you are vacating the spot. It will go to any waitlistees, or if none then left vacant until somebody wants to transfer in
4. Does the school you waitlist at give you a number or entirely up to their discretion?
Entirely up to their discretion how they want to dole out the seat
Thanks.

May I know for waitlist, is it a must u have tried applying for that school in phase 2C?
Does the same applies to transfer cases? Also need to have tried for that school in some phases before or no need?
Thank you!

Hope all is prs but teachers say all the 13 are prs ?

The staff there don't want to commit an answer so they just told us PRs is out already. And might need ballot for SC more than 2km, maybe 1 out.
So basis calculation, the rest who registered are PRs.

Good for you! This year no chance for qtps ph2cs liao. I was usually trying to squeeze through the qtps student crowd on my way to sky ville for lunch on my day off, walking by where the ice cream man stands!

I went to the school this morning and they were not giving the breakdown. However, I pushed a little and they said they \"may\" have balloting for PRs 1-2km but couldn't be sure (?!). I rang back at midday and it was a similar message, with slightly more registrations. But at 4pm when I rang, the lady on the phone said it was looking like balloting for SC >2kms. The message seemed to change depending on who you spoke to. It all seemed very imprecise and vague, which was frustrating. I'll be interested to see the actual breakdown when it's released. (We are PRs under 2km and decided not to risk our 2C choice and went for a safer choice instead.)

I hope you went for Opera Estate Primary as planned? If so, congrats! I think your kids will enjoy themselves there. It seems quite a holistic school.

Yes I did! And we got a spot! We sat for two hours this afternoon at the school to watch the registration unfold and i'm even more convinced it's the right school for us. Such happy children everywhere. Thanks for all your help in the lead-up Zac's Mum. School registration is certainly an experience!! (and one I'm glad I don't have to repeat!)
Well done, made the right choice.
At Phase 2C, PR shouldn't waste their chance at balloting because their options at Phase 2CS are severely limited in the worst case scenario.
Given the balance of 23 places (Phase 2C: 64 applicants for 87 vacancies), PR is unlikely to get a chance at for Phase 2CS for Opera Estate.

Ic. That explains your frustrations & negative comments on QTPS.
I'll feedback to Principal on this issue.
Cheers, good night. :imanangel:

Thank you!
I think some people already said there is no rule. Any school can do whatever they want for wait list. All I speculate is that the top schools may want to see that u made some effort in the earlier phases. Cant be that those who just waltz in expect same waitlist treatment as everyone else if did not show some effort in trying, make sense right? That is likely why some ppl no chance liao still go and put their name down in ph 2c...

CuriousDaddy2019, as of 12pm when I called. Total PRs applied 5. The rest of the influx after 2.30pm of their citizenship i have no idea.

Thanks - tnat’s helpful.

Fingers crossed!
Within 2km sc are likely to be safe. Going into balloting for the sc>2km, 41 applicants vs 40 available.
Information as at closing today at the school.
