although RGPS doesn't have affiliation, the girls on the whole do well. even if they don't make it to IP schools, they can still make it to express stream. Marymount doesn't have affiliation. if it does, there may not be space in 2CS in my opinion.
If you look at RGPS' earlier phases, the take up was not as strong as MGS, SCGS, HPPS as it doesn't have affiliation. 114 spots were available at 2C for RGPS as a result. also, i am not sure if it is a result of non-affiliation but about 50% of RGPS students go to IP program generally. It is all at your own merits. -

Unless the data / info comes from a verified source, I would take \"50% of RGPS students go to IP program\" with a pinch of salt.

yes, agree on both points. so i do feel non-affiliated schools promote and develop meritocracy.. which is supposed to be our country's bedrock...

When is the actual balloting taking place?

When is the actual balloting taking place?
I suppose it should be Monday and Tuesday next week since results from balloting will be released on 8/8, the day before national day which will be early dismissal for all schools.
for kids who are balloted out, if parents want to put their kids on school wait list, they would have to be there before 10am. -
How come MOE still never update the schools which need to go for balloting? Has been waiting…

Hi Janet, may I know where you get this information from? \"for kids who are balloted out, if parents want to put their kids on school wait list, they would have to be there before 10am.\"Jamiek:

based on past experience.

there is no guarantee the child will get a place if they are put on wait list, but should there be, the school may call at the end of the year. the reason why I mentioned before 10am is because 8 august is eve of national day and there is early dismissal for all primary and secondary schools. -
yes, I understand that the school will be released early on 8 August 2018. But is it necessary to resubmit/reapply on 10am? I am just wondering whether it makes any different resubmitting/reapplying on the 8 Aug itself or later?

wait. you are not reapplying or resubmitting...but merely putting your name on school wait list in case there is someone who leaves and there is a vacancy.
kiasu mah. though it is not transparent or confirmed who will be called if there is a vacancy, it's still 'safer' to submit name asap right?
if balloted out, next step would have to register at schools which still have vacancies under 2CS on 13/8.
this p1 registration is a stressful process every year...but worse during hot ones.
