Zappy:
I'm assuming every one is SC < 1km.
Well, because the system isn't first come first serve mah (which would present its own problems - will have people queuing up with chairs & sleeping bags).sannnz:
i just called up North Vista to check on the stats...and there one who walked in to apply, causing everyone of us has to ballot again. OMG.......i really cannot take it.
yesterday was full - 47/47. today 48/47. My heart...............
why did that one parent has to cause all other 47 parents to stressed out again.....I'm really going to break down.
Or that parent checked other places and found the odds to be worse so decided to join this queue instead.
Anyway, don't worry and break down in office... 47/48 is pretty good odds - almost 98% chance of getting the slot.
If that's the case, can't deny anyone from applying. Who knows, there could be 1 or 2 applicants >1km. -
Hi hi, I know it is hard but it is also not that one parent's fault, it is the system flaw I feel, having to put us through this very painful process. I can only comment that they should never allow PRs to register at phase 2C, PRs should only be given a chance at phase 2Cs.
We were balloted out from the school right next to our house at phase 2C. The school of our choice now at phase 2Cs was already filled with PRs at phase 2C, and now we risk another round of balloting, even for SC!! So I guess most SC applicants at Phase 2Cs have their fair share of problems, sticky situations, etc.
Good Luck!
Thought balloting at 2c are all SC?? I dun think there are PRs balloting at 2c.. -
During this lunch break, I hope some people are re-thinking their strategy.
You know, sometimes a school which is <1km but too far to walk from your block.
Whereas a school which is 1-2km may be easier to travel to, eg. Just a few bus stops away, or a few LRT/MRT stops away. If that school still has plenty of vacancies, you still have a good chance no balloting at all.
Consider the point-to-point convenience, is what I’m saying. -

Yeah...you are absolutely right. Will need to choose the one nearer. I think I really can't think properly already now after all the sleepless night .. :faint:
i can understand your stress. it's madness. hope your child will be able to get into the school successfully.
at this point, it's not about which one is better BUT which one is nearer.janet88:
Oh my gosh....Fern Green oversubscribed

Which one is better now, Anchor Green or North Spring? Difficult

Plenty of schools are balloting for PRs in Phase 2C. Some of them are probably thankful that SCs are not considering these schools.

Yes one example is Springdale primary school in Sengkang where the school ballot for Pr in phase 2c. If for example some sc parents didn’t go for fight at ncps at phase 2c. They would have secure the place at Springdale; and Pr will have 0 chance. So can’t just blame the Pr.

Most of the schools that have already been filled-up in earlier phases were balloted only by SCs. Last week, MOE published the balloting data of all primary schools during phase 2C (now taken down) which showed only SCs stood a chance to ballot for the vast majority of schools and only very few schools (none of which were SAP schools if I remembered correctly) could be balloted by PRs. Thus, most PRs do not even stand a chance to ballot anyway since they are given the lowest priority for each phase. Certainly, many PR friends know very well that there is 0 chance of getting into popular elite schools or neighbourhood schools that are in very populated areas, especially during the dragon year and won't even waste their 2C choices even if the kids will have to travel further away. So can't blame the PR with this system already in place. -

If u are SC at any distance, can secure it easily at 2C. It’s a relatively new school with good reviews too.
