          MyPillow:
leeyl, your yard is facing big piece of greenery - nice for pet n family 🙂

by the way, what do u call the dog now if u want his attention ? when u wave at him, does he come over?
Yesterday very xiong. GR Boy couldn’t walk or eat. Either played too much with other dogs at the pet grooming centre yesterday or rainy days arthritis acting up in its joints. I couldn’t even get him out of the house to pee. Whole day I was very stressed!

Called 3 clinics but no vet wants to do Housecall. In the end, DH had to come home early and both of us slowly dragged GR Boy to the nearest clinic. Vet gave him pain relief injection, did a blood test to determine a suitable pain killer to give him for the long term and a dose of vaccination. Yesyerday’s medical bill $369. :faint:
DH said if pass the dog to auntie, will become a burden to them, also jialak.

@MP, I call him Golden but don’t think he responds to his name (yet). My house faces lush greenery but after hearing that he could catch fleas, I stop letting him go near the grass patch.

Lee_yl, get him a topical flea treatment - something like frontline/revolution/advantage/nexguard/bravecto. It’s more of a preventative measure, and you just squeeze the whole tube onto the skin between his shoulder blades. Once a month. Quick and easy. We also give worming tablets once every three months.

Oh poor GR. Sounds like he's got a bad case of arthritis. Coming week u can observe more whenever it rains if he acts up again. I mean his arthritis. Hope that's not why he was abandoned.

Come to think of it, now I realize yr wisdom in getting a crew cut for GR. At least to start off clean & easy to spot & rid fleas! :nailbite:

                You're really GR's savior!

The lost dog has its former glory found and enjoyed much love from your family, the classmates and the ksp members here.

No one should feel guilty when it is time to let it go to a better place, to relieve it from physical pains when it becomes too unbearable for it.

Sometimes a visit to the groomer might be stressful for a dog. Just like some todds getting all upset at the hairdressers. His refusing to leave the house could be him being scared that it means going to the groomer again. Or course he could also be in pain because of his arthritis

                    Is GR boy better today?

Arthritis is very common for older dogs. Especially for larger breed dogs, it’s not uncommon for them to get arthritis around six or seven years old. It’s very manageable with medication. If he’s otherwise healthy, GR Boy hopefully has a good many years ahead of him yet!

the other thing with dogs is developing skin problem when they get older.

I remember my dogs had such bad problems and vet couldn’t do anything about it. eventually they had to be put down. that is the reason why I can’t bring myself to rear dogs again, other than the cleaning up. it’s hard to get over when they had to go.
