My DS is in Year 2. Infocomm is his passion. May I know if a Double Math, Physics and Computing combi is possible in Year 5?

Hi Maple Leaf,

No he is not. But he practises programming in his free time :o. This year he self taught himself quite advanced coding to develop an app for IS. When I asked him he said is still early days. Just trying to get through Sec 2 streaming year first! I mentioned those subjects because those seem more intuitive for him whereas I got to nag or he will leave to last minute to memorise for History and Geo and keeps grumbling to me how boring he finds them, though he does well enough.

Sorry I have another question! Which InfoComm track did your boys choose for Sec 2? I understand they can choose between programming languages, app devt or something…Thank you!

There is a choice of C++, Python or HTML in Year 2.

Any thoughts / views / recommendations on the choices?

I am not so familiar with IT stuff. HTML is the least hardcore choice, I believe. Rest are programming languages. Sorry at this age, the kids really know best.

Thanks bboomer71! You're right; I'm leaving the choice to my son. Still, am very impressed with HCI's inclusion of InfoComm at lower sec.... my son has learnt so much and can converse about the topic

Wow,that's great! Yr DS shld join the School's Infocomm Olympiad training. My DS only learn coding last year via the school;s curriculum plus the NOI training. He is not talented in it from DH 's observation. Nonetheless, we still let him try since he likes it.
Happy to know yr boy doing well for the humanities subjects ,too,

Thanks for your kind words, Maple Leaf! Somehow he missed the info on NOI training or he knew but timing clashed with his CCA. I will check with him when he is back. Today after celebration, went out with friends, followed by CCA training.

Is Term 3 MSG usually bad? My son asked me to prepare for the worst lol!!
