Go to a pet shop and get something like this. With that you can block off an area in your house and keep GR boy there even on rainy nights.

Oh dear. If you have a canvas sheet maybe you can drap over the umbrellas and use clothes pegs to hold in place? Or just peg into tent shape with whatever you have at home?

No canvas sheet, temporary can use raincoats?
Because I thought maybe need to shield from cold moist wind from the side too, not just rain.
Not sure how big is the dog, but will chairs or foldable tables provide good temporary shelter (drape with canvas/raincoats)?

Those are only for small dogs. Golden is a big adult Golden Retriever, he can just ramp out fr that small lightweight fix.

these are flexible. can join 2 sets together to give the golden a bit more space.


From how leeyl describes GR boy he does not seem like one that will ramp out.

I am using this for my GR as well. Don’t even need to secure it. So long as the fence is there he knows that is the boundary.

Am suggesting this base on my experience with the dogs that I had and have, 2 of which are goldens. Of course some level of training is required initially for them to understand what those fence mean.

If leeyl is going to house Golden on a longer term, canvas or ground sheets will not provide adequate shelter especially since the rainy seasons may be upon us. If her place is windy she will have lots of challenges providing Golden a dry place on her balcony on rainy days even with the make shift shelters.

Anyways, just a suggestion.

It is very big. Actually I m scared of dogs, especially large dogs like Golden. MIL also :nailbite:

Rain finally stopped. Phew!

But Golden keeps barking non-stop now. Luckily today is PH and the girls are at home. They helped to dry his fur and are good at pacifying it.

Golden's looking good. Seems to have lost some weight. Or maybe lost fur so looks trimmer.

If the dog is kept outside at the balcony, will he fall sick more easily due to windy or heavy rain since it’s going to be wet for this coming weeks as reported in the news.


Hmm… might need to spend more money bringing him to the vet ?

My post, my GR lah. That pic is just an example of how I keep my GR in one area of the house if I do not want him to roam around. We do that especially when mopping or repair/maintenance work is being done or if there are visitors who are scared of dogs.
