Arh, mooncakes. I was there in Monday when workers were laying carpets & putting up the stalls.

Any recommendations? Most were not as good as traditionally handmade ones. Too many tried to tout unique flavours that come off as essence to my taste buds. Used to love Wan Hao & the Teochew yam mooncakes.

I went to the mooncake fair at Taka.

As usual, I bought from Tai Chong Kok .
          There seems 25% discount.
A box of 4 lotus seed paste with one yolk is $44 now $33.
oh the mooncake fair started already?

my usual is 美心 white lotus paste with 2 egg yolks...but it is optional. just like my craze for chempedak mooncakes.

didn't go out today because I'm afraid everywhere will be crowded since it's a public holiday.

buying mooncakes now is for self consumption since it is still 7th month.
it's a public holiday, so I think many people are out. luckily we stayed at home today...take advantage of a public holiday to get daughter to revise for her final year exam.

Are you making? Ah Seng sells quite good durian puree. I use it as jam... :yikes:
