Dear parents....that's right. I meant when to register with SHHK the interest in phase 2B.
I kept forgeting to call SHHK to find out during the day but managed to do so last week. brought necessary docs and submitted the registration form last week. the lady said can call SHHK 3 days before phase 2B registration date to check if I am issue the recommendation letter.
Hi all!! Just to check, so meaning if we have more years of membership with the clan, we will get higher chances to get the recommendation letter?
After we get the letter, still subject to balloting is it? -
dandelion:
Not too sure about ur first question. As to ur second question, it depends on which school u registering at. If number of applicants is more than number of places for that school under phase 2B, then there would balloting. U can check the past balloting history of that school to give yourself a guide.

Should there be more members seeking recommendation letter from the clan than the number the clan & school have agreed, the clan is likely to issue the letters based on years of membership and / or activeness of the member.
The recommendation letter only allow members to register with the school until phase 2B. If there is more applicants then available vacancies, then balloting by distance will take place. -
Hi,
Would like to find out since I am a christain and baptised from a non-methodist church, can I still entitled to register my boy under a methodist school under P2B? Is there any other christain schools open to other churches (as in different denomination) ?
Thanks -

I'm afraid not. Unless you become a member of the Methodist Church, you would not be entitled to register in Methodist schools under Phase 2B.Hi,

Hi
So does that mean I need to do a conversion from my charismatic to methodist church in order to enjoy the P2B? Is there really no other schools offering charismatic denomination at all??
How should I go about doing the conversion? Any guidance is much appreciated here. -
kiakiamom:
Even if you succeed in converting, you may not be eligible for Phase 2B. It depends on which year you need to register and the criteria set by the Methodist church you join. If you just converted and wish to register this year, it may not be possible because you will be a new \"member\" in your new church and I believe you need to be a \"member\" for a number of years and/or be active/participate in their activities. Many churches will use this as criteria to decide if you are eligible for the letter that will allow you to register in Phase 2B. (If you see it from the church's existing members' POV, it is a fair and transparent procedure.)Hi

Hi all,

my birthcert did not indicate my dialect group. Only my parents.
1. So how to determine if I’m of a certain dialect group ?
2. Is hock chew considered hokkien ?
Appreciate it Thanks !! -

:!: How can Hockchew be considered Hokkien? :? :scratchhead:

We used to joke that if the father is a Hokkien, and the mother is a Teochew, the child will be Hokchew or Teokien.
But, alas, it's a joke only. -
Qms: thanks for your reply. What a disgrace I am, m a hock chew but knew nuts about the language but rather I speak Cantonese pretty well though. Néed to start planning for which school to enrol
boy in though stil long way to go. Lol
