Hello!
Can anyone share how does the rule for the “within 1km” from school works?
Whose address will it follow? If mine and my hub’s IC address is different, whose do we follow?

Both spouse address shld be same. Is there a reason why it remains different? Sorry to dive str to point & sound blunt, unless a valid divorce/separation case, one of you need to change yr address to yr matrimonial home address. Many Sporeans/PRs do not realize they run foul of the law till their kids register for Pri 1.

Thanks for your swift respond. That’s due to the reason we still do not have a home ourselves. So my address is still my mum’s home address.

Are you both residing at yr mum’s. If so, the right thing to do is change address with police post within 30 days. Once u get yr home, same same - change within 30 days.

No, we technically do not stay together. That’s the reason why we did not change the address of his.
Does anyone know whose address will it follow for Primary 1 registration for the “within 1km” please. -
I’ve come across sch asking parents to w/draw appln & go change address to be same before system can accept. I’m only aware if yr spouse is working overseas, then u can enrol yr child with yr address during P1. Do check with MOE directly & don’t be caught last minute scrambling.
