The in thing is to look natural. Gone are those days of makeup and artificial look with liners.Went for a company organised grooming workshop once. Was in my early 20s then. Left in the middle of it.
Basically the trainer told us that we should never leave the house barefaced and perfume completes the package. She basically said that it is rude for women to leave the house without any makeup on. It is akin to leaving the house without clothes. Those were the times when in the corporate world, women should wear stockings and preferably wear skirts or dresses and not pants.
Did not agree with me. Even then, I was very sensitive to smell and a lot of times I end up being nauseous or with migraine because of some overpowering perfume someone was using. I kept thinking why need to draw this and that on our faces. What's wrong with our natural lip colour? Why need to turn it pink or red or purple? A lot of times I see women looking worse than before they slapped on all those makeup. For me, even during my corporate days, I use very minimal makeup. Most of the time I am bare faced or if I look a bit washed out that day, some loose powder and blush.
It's more impt how we carry ourselves & what comes fr our speech. A heavily made-up tai tai with expensive adornments & dressing does not make a refine person.
We shld look beyond makeup into the beauty of each individual & not the prop-up, artificial external. Just being yourself, and being friendly & pleasant is what I prefer to deal with - the inner beauty of each friend I meet. -
some people are PLAIN rude…and if I’m not in the mood, I will pass sarcastic remarks.
if that person spoils my mood, he/she will also hear some remarks. last week a woman walked right into me when the lift door opened…everyone was waiting outside but she couldn’t. so I said, ‘somebody is so polite.’ -

Your son has done very well in his studies. Congrats
I hope daughter will get motivated to work hard...I explained to her I'm not comparing, but the feeling of getting good results is really great and it's a wonderful reward which cannot be bought.
But u cant compare your son n dd here - son in Poly vs dd in secondary sch
Unless u take out your son Sec sch results to compare with hers and O level results too etc But dun compare is better right
let them grow n bloom naturally so long the loving/caring mum is always around for her & or them

putting make up eg spf foundation helps to block some harmful uv rays on our face , lip balm n gloss keep the lips moist n not too dry/crack. thus i still put basic when go as near as supermarket. my colleague told me , actually need to put SPF powder at home too , due to the lights in the house  :rotflmao:
ST, nothing to do with your dressing, she was rude, that’s all.starlight1968sg:
The most remarkable part was she replied: you don’t know English? All are bbq chicken. Unprepared by such response, I humbly admitted that I didn’t study much and hence couldn’t understand ...
But shouldn’t let dressing stop you from doing what you want to do. Do what you need to feel comfortable, experiment with different styles to find your own. Suitable make up is different at different age as the skin changes and makeup trends now steer towards natural healthy look. In any case, you swim daily so you probably have a natural healthy glow and don’t need much. -
I fully support your practice - SPF sunblock, slip balm checked. At home, I draw day curtain partially to shade where I sit, unless I’m at inner angle away fr sun rays. I don’t mind abit of morning sun for healthy skin. Don’t want to look too pale & ghostly. 没有肉色

I have not bought CS bbq chicken, but I believe there are display tags placed in the food warmer tge with the bbq chicken, price printed on the display tag as well. Maybe you did not pay much attention to the display tags?
Nevertheless, I agree that the CS staff was being rude. I would hv demanded to see the manager n to get an apology from the CS staff.
btw, the staff at the HillV2 supermkt are very polite. -
