Janet, perhaps after the exam, find some mother-daughter time to talk through seriously. Maybe ask her what exactly she really wants and work out with her to get to her target and goal.

she is careless for her math...missing out unit of measurement always.
she wants to take F&N (food and nutrition) while I hope she takes A math because carelessness aside, she can do well.
most importantly, I want her to follow her own target and not go with the herd because that's the dumbest thing to do.

Initially my noti DC2 tends to forget writing down the SI units, I pulled him aside to do soft skills to show him the importance of SI unit. We do baking, cooking and even chemistry experiment. Thereafter DC2 somewhat get the hands of it. That is why every Fri night is our cooking/baking session. DC2 will need to find the recipe that he wants to do and we work together on this. Most time I purposely tweak the recipe such that DC2 needs to do Maths conversion. Perhaps you need to get your daughter to do some soft skills to get her to understand the importance of being accurate on Maths.

Sometime nagging at a certain age really cannot help much. :faint:

        Janet
        I totally understood u.
Dh and I are more inclined to science subjects but dd decided to study humanities/arts subjects in the U.
Can u imagine the struggle in my heart?
Did she think very carefully? Is she making a wise and informed decision? Can she find a job when she graduates? Can she cope bec all along she took science subjects? etc

I can only keep telling her to think properly and carefully as there are not many 2nd chance available.
she has to take a science combination next year, whether she likes it or not....they would be physics and chem.
at this point in time, I am asking herself to give that push to get AT LEAST 60 marks in order to be promoted to Sec 3 and choose a subject combination of her choice and not being allocated to a class. if she wants to do geography, then do very well in that subject.

after this coming week, I should be able to breathe easier because daughter will be done with her humanities papers.
the following week will be her math, science as well as art and food & nutrition.

it's October and the weather is still so hot and humid here while poor japan has been pounded by disaster one after another.
even HK is not spared from 十号 typhoon. the climate change is really scary.

if I do not want to take 3 showers, then I would have to sit in front of the fan the whole day.

Auditors are in since last week. Stressful period ! digging staff careless entry … hopefully just careless n no big hole …

Such work stress are unavoidable … remind my self failure should not affect our hearts if we are clear in conscience … reminding myself to 向前(钱) 看 , else many of us would have quit working long ago - Give me more reasons to reward myself to go nice holidays , seeking joy spiritually & reasonable materials , family bonding , inner peace … …

                  to add:
my ds was having psle during my last audit period too ( wonder how i sailed thru, but last boss was more kind then with reasonable expectations)

Understand your stress. 向钱看 and 宠宠自己

So long we exercised due diligence and our conscience is clear.

sitting in front of the fan and still perspiring.
