Hi, I’m looking for a private tutor for my daughter to help her with Chinese. She is currently in K2. She has very low confidence in the language, so we prefer someone who is very patient and able to guide her in a fun/lively manner to cultivate her interest in the language as well as someone who is familiar with the current MOE syllabus. Kindly PM me if you have anyone to recommend please.

I know there's 《小拇指》、《大拇指》、《早报逗号》 but only happened to know about 《小小拇指》 after seeing the ones belonging to one of my student's sister's. I looked through a couple of issues and found the content really interesting. The illustrations were really good too. Although she's from kindergarten, I think this newsletter is suitable to Pri 1 and even Pri 2 (esp. those who are still trying to build a solid foundation in learning of CL).

Biweekly issue, so works out to be $2/issue.

I subscribed before. It’s pretty good, even has some colouring and suggested craft activities, if I recall correctly.

Yesterday when flipping thru Popular’s catalog, saw the boxed set for Young Scientist and Young Mathematician magazines, then I suddenly recalled that I had subscribed to 1 year’s subscription via mailing in the paper form. But I never heard back from the publisher!! Never received any copies for the whole year. Forgetful me, end of the year then I recall I subscribed. Haizzzz now chase also too late.

Yes, there are. I think 早报‘s publication (& illustrations) are better as compared to Zhi Shi Bao/ETutor. The standard and efforts of the latter hasn't improved much since my own schooling days (知识画报) >_<. Guess their \"monopolization\" of the market probably played a part in their 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach.

On a side note, any parents interested in getting 2016-17 issues can take a look at https://sg.carousell.com/p/%E5%B0%8F%E5%B0%8F%E6%8B%87%E6%8C%87-thumbs-up-little-junior-21-copies-kindergarten-1-2-201745758
