Sis, how come u will know that got someone withdrawn from your wait list SCH that you put on?
tinywings:
One sch that i put on waitlist, someone withdrawn and they gave this slot to someone who failed the ballot. So who they offer might b the same for other schools. Those of us who put on waitlist will queue behind those who failed the ballot.
Pls note: Nov/Dec schools are having their orentation. -
Child on wait list, since there isn’t any academic result to compare, based on wat criteria that the SCH use to choose children on wait list?

Was applicant unsuccessful in the ballot in Phase 2A? 2B? 2C? Did applicant even apply in those phases?
Distance from home to school? -
Yes, apply under phrase 2C, but kanna ballot out, overscription of about 100...this SCH just right below under out blk, no choice, register a SCH about 1km away, but we reluctant to travel for this 1km distance daily for to n from.. Haiz

Have you indicated this compelling reason when applying for the waitlist??
Every few weeks, call the school and reiterate this reason lah.
My friend in same situation last year as you got called up in December and was offered a place. Distance is a pretty good factor. -
Didn't dare to call up often as afraid the SCH will find it irritation and overdo? But as of yesterday, no withdrawn, I did indication my reason on the wait list form. Another strong point is my younger son is attending that SCH moe kindergarten from nx year, I really hope the SCH can review us for this strong point n it a hassle for logistics every morning..

You have yet another strong point then. Even more reason to press home your point (nicely) when calling the school. Explain in detail.Didn't dare to call up often as afraid the SCH will find it irritation and overdo? But as of yesterday, no withdrawn, I did indication my reason on the wait list form. What’s there to lose even if you embarrass yourself or look like an irritant? Lots, apparently. Just put on a brave front and do it for your family. -

I would call to get an indication of the situation. However, I won’t bother pressing the school. You have a compelling reason but so do 100 other applicants (under 1km treated the same, regardless of 1/2/3 blocks away). And given that the other school isn’t very far, you can’t really argue that the alternative is much worst.Yes, apply under phrase 2C, but kanna ballot out, overscription of about 100...this SCH just right below under out blk, no choice, register a SCH about 1km away, but we reluctant to travel for this 1km distance daily for to n from.. Hi floppy,
What do you mean call for indication of the situation?
Ya, 100 other applicants have been ballot out during P2C, let say if about 40-50pax on waitlist, how do we stand out from the rest of the applicant that is on waitlist? Exceptional who child got uniquely talent?
The next school available is about 1km away, which is a hassle for logistics to send 2 children for 2 different locations every morning and evening, if rain even worst….
This neighborhood sch is right below our block, it is too near that left us with no alternative choice to choose others.floppy:

Dear All,
I got the long waited call from my wait listed school yesterday!! Some one withdrew and my son was offered the spot.
I was literally screaming in the office yesterday when i received the call.
Took urgent leave to make a mad dash between two schools to apply and withdraw.
I guess NOV is the month of orientation and perhaps musical chair has started!
No harm calling the school to check up every week to ask if there’s any withdrawal.
I did ask before what is the basis for selecting who to give the available slot to, and the school told me home-school distance, but maybe it varies across school…
Good luck everyone!!
