some of the plastic bags I carry in the pouch which I put inside my everyday bag.

not difficult to do, just a small lifestyle adjustment.

I just use 2 layers of plastic bags to line my rubbish bin. For wet waste. It’s using double the plastic no doubt, but it’s never happened that both bags will have holes in the same spot.

I line the bin with 1 plastic bag with lavender scent (mum bought from Phuket)...and another grocery bag for rubbish. it just didn't occur to me there would be holes. when I go to the supermarket on saturdays, I usually bring a cooler bag with ice packs...then ice cream, frozen stuff and eggs would all be put in the bag.
if I buy liquid detergent, I will get 2 plastic bags as the bottle is heavy.

A batch of muffins just came out from my oven. Very disappointed they didn’t rise this time after I substituted milk with Greek Yougurt. The batter was supposed to yield 12 muffins but it only yielded 10 muffins. Too dry?

Did you add more liquid? Gk yogurt is dryer than milk. That may have reduced the volume. Not sure about the rising.

Could be. I noticed that the muffin batter was dry like cookie dough which could be why it yielded only 10 muffins instead of 12.

Yes, I did added about 1/4 cup of water (although not part of the recipe). This morning I was thinking over why the muffins didn’t rise, could it be the water I added or the baking powder not effective or over mixing of the muffin batter?

The muffins turned out to be like a scone, flat, but taste wise was surprisingly good!

I intend to try again shortly. But we are all sick of eating muffins already. Lol.
We finished our office move today! So glad it's done and went smoothly. The guys from Helping Hand were really great - very polite and considerate, asking us where we wanted to put things etc. So different from the movers I had in China (and I moved about 6 times there).

All the staff worked very hard this afternoon and we have mostly unpacked already although there are still some untidy bits that still need sorting out properly. We also need to get a few more little shelves and organisers. Now I have to go back to the old place and inventory the stuff we didn't move, and see what to do about them.

So tonight, I'm going to just sit and read, and drink my tea. That's my me time!

                slmkhoo,

It’s so wonderful to hear yr office move has completed finally!

One big burden off your shoulders. 🕺

                Enjoy your ME TIME!

Thanks! Not completely done yet, maybe 75% done? As always, in a new place, things don't fit that well (we moved stuff from the old office as this is just a 2-yr temp office while we look for new premises), so we will need to look for additional storage solutions, shelving, etc. One of my colleagues and I will have to go shopping next week. I think I'll go and do some preliminary looking around over the next few days. Although no-one is complaining in my hearing, I know some are not happy because it's more cramped, they don't like changes etc. I hope they will settle down and get used to the new place quickly.

And my main job today is to take inventory of what has been left in the old office to be disposed of before we hand it back, and then get people to help me clear stuff. Although we have till January, I want to get it done before Christmas at the latest; by early Dec would be better.
slmkhoo,
Adjustments are never easy esp for older folks. To help ease into new office, might be just nice in time for an mini office party as a “office warning” & Christmas is around the corner. Maybe each staff get a goody bag of makan stuff or some practical & useful things as gift to bring back fr new office?

I eyeball the plastic bag before lining the bin and put a little tape over a hole if I see one. I rarely have supermarket bags now as I get bags when I order online and will use those and reusable bags when I shop in person.

I hv a thick HEB grocery bag which I use for holding household cleaning detergents bou from supermkt. Usually holds 2 litres at most since I restrict myself from carrying heavy things.

I now have less shopping plastic bags at home.
Feel good to know I am making an effort to go ‘plastic bag lite’ for the environment.

i still have plastic bags at home, but we control the number of bags used.

wet rubbish from the sink is thrown twice a day or there will be an odour but rubbish from the rooms are accumulated into one plastic bag every 3 days…usually crushed paper and tissue paper.
it’s the same practice when we were staying in the prev flat where there is a rubbish bin in every unit.
