You could call salvation army or breakthrough to collect. Google for contact number.

We are looking for someone to clear old furniture from a vacated office. It's a small office, and most of the items are quite old. A few are good and fairly new, but too large for most HDB homes, so none of the staff want to \"adopt\" them. I don't have the time or manpower to cope with giving away or selling them piecemeal. What's the best way to get the place cleared? A charity which would self-collect (and not cherry-pick)? A contractor?

        Thanks for any tips.
Unlikely there would be a charity that would be able to take all of the items, and most other than SArmy are not able to self collect. For quick disposal, best bet would be to pay for disposal. Had to do that recently, though furniture items were in generally good condition. Get a few quotes as prices vary - take a pic of the items and send it to obtain quotes.

              Jen,
That was what I suggested to her coz what we can’t use, may benefit some needy families. Some social workers usually on lookout in this website to help elderlies or kids who wld need study desks or bookshelves, etc.

Some social workers hv their network of ppl volunteering to tpt for good cause. The last time a social worker arranged for SMRT volunteer staff & they’re very happy to send 3-4 staff to carry heavy fridge & washer to an old lady with arthritis. The company provides the use of company vehicle & the staff volunteers gets rest of day-off.

Donor has to pay for delivery - I've donated my personal items before. This time, with so many items, I can't cope with this!

Thanks for suggestions. Someone also told me to check if the building management might arrange for a single contractor to handle this for all units (the building has been sold en bloc). That might be simpler.

I have some big items to donate too but no transport. So I just contacted a charity group yesterday and they quoted me $300. So looks like I have to give up the idea of donating soon and just dispose off, just that I feel very sayang.

If moving piece meal furniture can just contact a mover to send fr point A to point B. Pay them according to distance. Shld be $50-80 bah depending on size of item.
