I agree with Esteema.
The navy blue uniform shorts can last several years, since they have an adjustable waist as the boys fatten up. Being a dark colour and of well-made material, the shorts are also fantastic at hiding any ink etc. stains and hardly get damaged over the years. The boys can even wear it every single day, according to school rules don’t need to change to the elastic waist black corporate shorts.
If money is really tight, the boy can survive on 2 blue shorts, alternate between those 2 pieces for several years.
The white shirts are the ones that get dirty easily. Marker stains, Milo stains etc…even bleach may not remove all the stains. So u may need to invest in at least 3 to 5 new white shirts per year.
The house singlets are used for PE. Get 1 or 2 pieces minimum in case his PE days are consecutive days of the week. They can last many many years of growth since the arm hole is very big lol! -
Thank you Esteema and zac's mum! Appreciate the advises. I think I will get 3 sets of uniform and 2 sets of PE attire

So excited yet a bit anxious to start on this P1 journey! -
NgKE:
I wld encourage you to spend DAY 1 of school with your child. Let him queue for food but go around school take nice pics of playgrd, library, eco-garden, etc. Then help him decide if he wants to spend time queuing for food or bring lunchbox of home-food for recess & spend time at library or playground.Thank you Esteema and zac's mum! Introduce him to library & get to know uncle Jek. There are plenty of activities to keep yr child engaged. They hv read-ups & yr child earn interesting cards of choices fr dinosaurs, submarines, aeroplanes, sports cars, etc. There are Chinese card games, 喜羊羊 videos, etc. If u're SAHM, you can add to the learning activities as they'll need more mums & dads to put interesting programs together for your little tikes. Learning with other kids becomes more fun.
You'll soon learn that your child can be involved in either Odyssey of the Mind or Destination Imagination creative & performing arts (which can be use for DSA). You can be your child's team coach too. These 2 programs actually helps kids to build courage, self-esteem, oral skills, performing skills (build skills in expressions & co-ordinated movements, etc). It's actually multi-faceted learning.
Hee, Hee... think you'll be busy in a happy way to cater for his wholesome development fr P1. -
Hi reading the recent posting it seems the boys are no longer sorted into mixed ability and higher ability class anymore? Is that toght? So all classes remain as in since they join P1?

There is no more higher ability class(es). The 9 classes of 2018 P2s just finished their SA2 and they were reshuffled into 7 P3 classes of ~39 each. All mixed ability classes.
As for future batches, since MOE has removed exams for future P1 and P2s, I don’t know how they will be reorganized in P3. In every school there is some reshuffling in P3 because the class size will go up to 40 max. -
Thanks does this apply to P4 next year?

Sorry I don’t know. I got my info at the group parents breakfast session with the Principal at the beginning of the year.
Maybe you can wait for the latest P4 news at next January’s session. -
