I think the below word cards were the only thing that I made for my son for his O level last minute prep about 10 years ago. There's a small number at the top of the card and I think if not wrong is referring to the chapter number of the Chinese textbooks.

He saw this packet of cards a few months back and actually he COULDN'T remember he ever had it. Well, I really don't think he actually made use of it coz he was sort of simply disinterested in Chinese (I made a mistake of making it in the first place as I forgot the hard fact about if no interest means no interest. Really can't force the head of a cow down to drink water. Will not repeat this mistake for kids under my study guide nowadays.)

          Thank you, laoshi!
Would you have any recommendations for oral?

          Hi ammonite,
The ones by 大拇指 and MC (‎Marshall Cavendish Education) are pretty good.

For the 2 published by 大拇指, they were previously available for sale at the Zao Bao Online Shop:
          https://zaobao-shop.myshopify.com/products/product-36?variant=36205332625

However, they seem to be out of stock. That said, I've seen some people selling in on Carousell.

[/quote]Just a heads up to any parent looking to get the out of print one (pic as above). Came across one available on Carousell:

              Hi Giggler,

Glad to be of help. 🙂 If you need clarification on how to revise in fun/relaxed manner using those cards, feel free to let me know.

Do remember - \"quality over quantity\" & \"consistency\" (even at 3 phrases, that's 900 phrases he can master in 300+ days!) and prioritize knowing the meaning before pronunciation (i.e. don't know how to read 委屈 but can explain that its the kind of feeling one has after being wrongly accused, that's a good start already) if need be.

              Jiayou! :rahrah:

I have actually advised parents of my learners to start training their children to work on a regular timetable, since July Primary 5.

I saw a number of posts in this thread that discussed revising throughout the Dec holidays and worry about how there is a lot to do and insufficient time.

Having gone through the whole process with my child this year, I understand that parents are anxious, especially if the results for the school exams have not been stellar. I would still urge you to consider having some real breaks to pace your children. It is a fast but still very long journey to October 2019.

You’ll need to help to pace your kids, when to peak, when to take short breaks, when to go intensive. After all, everything that is suggested here is for the academic success of the children. Don’t neglect the well-being and mental/ physical health just for the sake of those 3 magic numbers.

My child just finished PSLE this year. I remember during her Nov/Dec last year, all we did was get her to spend time revising her weaker or not so confident P5 subjects or topics. By revising, I mean doing some P5 assessments for those topics. We never believed in studying ahead. So we didn't touch P6 topics at all during her P5 Dec school holidays. She spent about 3 days a week, 1 hour each day to do her revisions. We wanted to do this for 3 reasons. Firstly, to make sure that her P5 foundation is strong. That will help her cope with P6 because many of the P6 work are built on P5. Secondly, we wanted to keep her \"engine\" warm but not running near the max. While some may think that there's not much time left, it is actually a very long race. If you are not careful, they peak too early, they will burn out and loses the drive to excel. So pace it out. Make sure they have their fair share of fun. Lastly, we did not ask her to start studying P6 work during P5.Dec holidays because we are aware that some students who did that tend to \"switch-off\" when the teacher starts teaching those topics in P6 because the students will think they already know the topics so don't need to pay attention.

That's my personal method and experience. It doesn't guarantee that it will work for every child. But at least my child has enjoyed her learning journey thus far though sh will still complain stressful once in a while 😉
