Hello all … joining with DD starting MGS Sec 1 this year. Any parents know of the AEP and what it entails to take on programme? My DD is in the IP track. Thank you.

Could anyone share how was MGS O level performance 2017? In particular, the percentage of students that have 6 Distinctions?

How is the SBA program in MGS? My daughter just got her PSLE results and considering MGS. She got 260. But she is not keen on the IB track. So thinking of going to O levels in MGS. With her score, will she automatically be in a SBA class? Thank you.

Hi I am keen for my daughter to go MGS too. Does all students in IP track go to ACSI for IB? or they need to compete to enter IB track? if not successful go to ACJC ?

Students will need to satisfy the criteria for promotion to the next level. ACJC is for O Level graduates wishing to take A levels. Students from affiliated schools can use 2 bonus points in the Joint Admission Exercise but they must still satisfy the eligibility criteria for JC before bonus points are applied. A place in ACJC is not assured as they need to compete wih other applicants in the JAE. The O Levels require 2 years of preparation so you cannot switch to it at the last minute.

[/quote]I know of someone in the SBA class. She enjoys the class very much. I'm not sure if your girl can be selected though.

So does that mean the children who go to IP for 6 yrs education they do not get IB (last 2 years automatically at Acs independent) ?

And they neither qualify automatically for Acjc as well ?

They need to compete to qualify for either one of Jc ?

Not sure if I’m replying right to your questions. To clarify, there are 2 separate tracks at MGS Sec:

1. Mgs IP : A through 6-Yr programme that leads to IB Diploma at ACSI at Yr 5 & 6 (Yr 1-4 at MGS Sec); girls must qualify the yearly criteria to stay on programme.
2. MGS Sec Express : O-level track offered at MGS Sec which at their 4th year, girls sit for GCE-O exam to qualify for pre-U insituitions e.g. JC. There’s no auto admission to ACJC; solely depends in O-level result for JC qualify & acceptance.
