Can anyone please help ! My DS scored 244+2

Should we put SJI as first or Nan Hua? Which sxhool has better school culture and produce better O level results? Would appreciate if someone can advise . Thanks .
The schools are really quite different.. With +2, Nan Hua (SAP school, with an emphasis on higher mother tongue) will be a great choice, especially if considering the impact on \"O\" levels with the bonus two points from doing HCL.

        Just curious.

For MGS, those who have been successfully accepted into MGS (IP) will do IB at ACS (I) in yr5 and yr6.

1). How about those who only qualify for MGS (O)? Can they choose to do IB at ACS (I) in year 5/6 or can they only proceed to other JCs to do A-levels?

2). Is there any possibility for an MGS (O) to switch track to go on the IB track after year 2.

How do schools allocate classes in Sec 1 for IP schools? If by t score, then those who entered via DSA? Under the individual domains or also via psle score?

            1. O Level at sec 4 = Proceed to JC for their A Level (or poly). If they want to stay in the family, would have to go to ACJC.

            2. MGS has a year 3 intake for the IB track: https://www.mgs.moe.edu.sg/secondary/admissions/mgs-integrated-programme-for-year-3-intake.
That's the last chance saloon for the IB track.

You can still go SJI to do HCL and get 2 bonus points for O Levels too

Hello, we are new to the SG schooling system and hence looking for advice from the esteemed and experienced members of this group chat : Our DD scored 273 in PSLE this year. Maths is her favourite subject for now and she dreams of becoming a doctor someday. Based on her score, she wanted to go to MGS IP (IB track) culminating in ACS I in year 5 and 6 as she liked the culture during the Open House. I am worried though on how well IB students are accepted in the local unis - NUS and NTU? Do they give preference to A levels since a majority of JCs follow this curriculum? Should she then put her first choice as RGS or Cedar? Please advise.

                    Dear Parents ,

Will u put NYGH as first choice If the cop for NYGH is 264 and your child t score is 264. Will the child be stressful if she goes in as she is competing with the t score students who scored 270 plus - 280 plus ? Will she be lag behind and stressful trying to catch up ?

Lastly , she has tuition to get t score of 264

I would put at first choice if the child and parents aspire to be.

PSLE scores are not the determinant as long as you meet the COP and gain entry. Note those who got in via DSA and affiliation may not hit 264.

Which school is not stress for each individual child? Think of it this way, many others have done it. Aim for success, not what if fail. GEP, tuitions and SAHM are irrelevant here.
