Hi All, I need u’all advise. My son currently is with MOE Kindergarten at Oasis Pri School and so he will be in Phase 2A(2) however i have recently moved to opposite Horizon Pri Sch. I heard lots of good review abt Horizon. Wondering if i give up Phase 2A(2) and i go ahead to register Horizon within 1km as Phase 2C, what if i can’t get in Horizon can i go back to Oasis Pri Sch to apply for Pri. 1 still?

Phase 2A(2) for Oasis is a guaranteed place.
Horizon is likely to ballot < 1km for Phase 2C.
Assuming you fail to get into Horizon in Phase 2C, you can apply back to Oasis in Phase 2CS. However, there could be a ballot for the remaining places (hard to tell at this point).

Your best move would be to apply to Oasis under Phase 2A(2) and observe the take-up rate for Horizon in Phase 2C. If odds are good, you can consider whether to withdraw from Oasis and reapply to Horizon. At the same time, consider the take-up for Oasis, if take-up remains slow / poor, there's probably a chance that you can reapply back in Phase 2CS safely. If odds are no good, it's probably a better idea to stay put in Oasis.

If you enjoy balloting and is willing to accept Guangyang in Phase 2Cs - CHS.

If you have a weak heart and stomach - KCPS.

You can refer to past https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/bishan/. In some years, KCPS ballot for > 2km. In others, between 1km and 2km. Unless it's one of those (rare) years where ballot < 1km, you will often stand a better chance with KCPS than CHS. However, you will have to monitor the situation next year and if both schools are in a balloting situation for you (100% CHS will ballot < 1km, KCPS unknown), calculate the odds and decide which one is better for you.
