Iโm curious to know too regards to the class allocations

I spoke to RI admission office yesterday, all GEP students will be grouped together same class for year 1 & year 2.
How many GEP classes in RI? -

There is a minimum requirement to apply for the Euler Programme. Students who can meet the pre-requisites would likely have had DSA using Maths. There were also DSA students who chose not to apply for Euler or Galileo.
The Euler selection test consists of 2 rounds (written & interview) while the Galileo selection test consists of 3 rounds (written, practical, interview). All students go thru the same selection tests regardless of primary sch achievements (i.e. even if one represented Sโpore before in overseas competition, still have to go thru the same selection process).Cattac:
Those who DSA via academic, science, will they have higher chance in getting the Galileo program? Likewise for math, the Euler program?
If not, then what is the purpose of taking in the students via DSA?
So students start with an equal footing. However like what Hquek shared, those DSA students usually outperform their peers in the selection tests due to the relative strength in their DSA subjects. However itโs not a given that DSA students will definitely be selected for these prg. Interview performance plays an impt part in the selection outcome too.
Intake is usually around 20 per subject and the std is pitched at a much higher level than RP. Students who accept the offer to join Euler or Galileo will have the option to join the merit CCA of Math or Sci club respectively. -

True. The minimum requirement for Euler is A* in psle maths and one competition, e.g. top 5% in ripmwc round 1. The minimum requirement for Galileo is A* in psle science. Very easy right? Students who are passionate in maths or science will meet the minimum requirement, so almost everyone who registered can join the first round.

How many GEP classes in RI?[/quote]5 GEP and 7 non-GEP classes. By Y3, no more such distinctions and class allocation based purely on subject combi. -

Oic. Thanks for clarifying.
Not any more. Euler and math club tests are separated. Galileo and science club tests are using the same paper, but one must indicate which he wants or both.iRabbit:

Pardon my blurness, but how many CCA are the student required to take? What is e diff between core n merit? I m still blur!
Every student takes at least one CCA, his core CCA. Some people, in addition to the one core CCA, also take one or more merit CCAs. Very few people take two core CCAs, both of which are usually sports.
Core CCA is either a Sport, Performing Arts Group, Unifomed Group or the Raffles Debaters. Merit CCA is any other CCA. The only substantial difference lies in the compulsory nature of core CCA, but there are other differences not in the substance like nature of activities, level of commitment, protected training times etc.
Hi ,
Found this old old post from this forum, I am wondering if it is still applicable, with regards to CCA in RI? On top of that, there are those who DSA via sports, performing arts, does it means that those who are not up to standard are unable to join those CCA?
Thanks -

gakusei's posting still correct. For those who dsa, they are automatically in the cca they dsa-ed for, no auditions required. Not sure if I read wrongly, but anyone who is not up to standard wouldn't have been dsa-ed right? if you are referring to general populace, all will have a shot at what they like but ultimately the cca will only take in what they like. -
Hi
Can any experienced parents share? What are the school hours like for Year 1? Thanks
