Try eating rolled oats every morning. It is effective for losing weight as well as lowering cholesterol.

Coupled with walking more than 10k steps daily, even my legs are slimmer.
Oats can be effective in loosing weight but the flip side is u get hungry faster in the day & if u can’t take the hunger pangs & eat in btwn meals, will defeat the purpose. The other side effect is the body gets drier & some ppl get constipation.

Do u have picture of \"rolled oats\"? How does it look like ? Can buy from Giant or NTUC supermarket ? Thank you.

They will be labelled \"rolled oats\" rather than \"instant oats\" or \"quick-cook oats\". NTUC carries a few brands, and I'm sure Giant does too. I usually get the Fairprice housebrand (red & orange plastic bag with clear centre panel). I haven't figured out how to insert a image yet.

But.... Oatmeal is not nice...

And I don’t feel satisfaction eating oatmeal.

Whenever I take Quaker’s instant oak (red packaging) for bfast, my heart tends to beat very fast and I get hungry before noon.

For the quick cook Quaker (blue packing), I don’t get side effects and it seems more filling! But I lazy to cook.

When the small pot of water boils, I feel like putting in a packet of instant noodles instead of oatmeal. 😂

I usually cook oatmeal with milk, cinnamon and brown sugar. Then I put sliced banana when serving. So yummy... You can try...

I agree with you - I don't like mushy oatmeal! I've tried it with various things, but in general, I don't like mush. I make granola instead, using rolled & quick cook oats with nuts, seeds and some dried fruit, and because I make it myself, I can reduce the amount of sugar so that it is sweet enough for my taste but not as sweet as ready-made granola. I like the crunch of the toasted granola and nuts etc. and I find that a bowl (about 3-4 tablespoons) keeps me full all morning. I make a big batch at a time so I only need to do it once in 2 weeks or so and it stores well.

I've not compared the effects of the various types of oats, but instant oats are the most processed, followed by quick cook oats, then rolled oats. The least processed are steel cut oats, but they need longer cooking time.

I also go only for rolled or steel cut oats. No instant oat for me.

My fuss free way, bring water to boil, dump 3-4 tablespoons oats in it. Bring to boil again. Transfer into thermal container drizzle some honey or maple syrup, add a dash of cinnamon. The oats will continue cook as I make my way to the office. Other times I will make savoury oats.

Whether or not it can last me till lunch depends on what time I eat my breakfast. In the past I will eat as early as 6+am and by 10am I will be hungry. So these days I try to eat only after 8am. That will take me through till lunch time.

Taking a bubble bath with soft music, candles, and a glass of ice-cold sparkling cider in your best crystal flute. Ughhh how I missed having a me time!

I know, good life it is if this is going to happen again. 😄

I can’t eat cooked oatmeal. Can’t stand the taste or the texture. But I like overnight oats. 1/2 cup of rolled or steel cut oats, 3/4 cup of milk, 2 or 3 tablespoons of berry yoghurt and a sprinkle of almonds, cranberries, dried apricots or fresh fruit. Yum!
