Yes, and I feel like I am preparing for it already! 😂

Lol. Whatever you do, remember your kid is in P4 now, the 2nd leg of the 6 year race to PSLE, P4 was a tough year for me, even though I had a good form teacher. But we are what we are now as a result of what we went through. Pace your child so that she/he grows familiar and fond of the learning process. Then, P6 PSLE will be a breeze!

Chief, my DS enjoys his current form teacher of P3-4.. so sad that Tr won't be following up since already taught the class for 2 yrs.. I've hardly heard of kids who say they miss sch during sch holidays.. but mine has been saying since P1 even up to now when we pass by sch during some weekends. so i guess he's been enjoying the learning process. not sure about next 2 years, when the heat turns up with tougher content n more homework.

We still find it weird yet heartwarming that he's been making such remarks though... maybe either he's had good teachers in lower pri, or we were just more playful in the past. haha

Its always heartwarming to hear that our kids enjoy their Primary schools. Last time teachers only follow the class for 1 year and is replaced the next. I would just say that the only year in Primary school I truly enjoyed is Primary One and the rest of my days there were pretty much keeping up with the the top people in the school. Came close but could not overtake the top student in school. I think Secondary school was off for me mostly... ended up in the Technical stream with a terrible Physics tutor. It was only when I reached JC when I truly found my calling 🙂

Having browsed through the curriculum a little these days, I found that while most of the syllabus these days have changed, the core part of education remains untouched. I don't think MOE will get rid of PSLE, despite all the hue and cry. They may change the syllabus of subjects, but never the subjects themselves, at the so-called foundation level. The most anyone is doing is to jig up the subjects a little. I like the fact they are revamping the syllabus, but somehow also feel the way they are doing it is rather half-hearted. Hard to switch the syllabus when eveything is going well!

            Thanks Chief.

Indeed, we are what we are now as a result of what we went through. Now, why does it sound so painful? 😂

Frankly speaking, PSLE is still quite far away in my mind, in terms of serious preparation. I went :yikes: :scared: after tofu boy's english teacher gave them some stuff to prepare for oral exam. I couldn't believe what they were told to do. I thought I should find out about actual PSLE oral topics just to get the feel of the expectation.

I hope I can be useful in tofu boy's journey to PSLE and beyond.

It is amazing how a good teacher can do magic to students.

While many students have their form teachers/main subject teachers following them up the level at least once, tofu boy never quite have such luck. In P4 now, save for a Chinese teacher who took him for P1 and P2, there is never a teacher who takes him for two consecutive years. Most teachers whom I had spoken to had a similar opinion on this matter - they rather follow the same class up the level if they have been trained sufficiently.

This year, tofu boy has a really inspiring English teacher and I can really see him improving and blossoming. I hope he will continue to meet such an inspiring teacher.

I totally agree with you on this.
son had a Chinese teacher in p5. his result picked up and did well for his oral exam. during the PTM, I was very keen to meet the teacher who inspired son to show an interest. the teacher was very humble...he told me he didn't do much and the best part is he said he was very strict in class. unfortunately this teacher didn't go on to p6 or son would have an A* for Chinese.
