Experienced parents, is it necessary to buy all the books listed in the booklist? Is it better to buy ebook or the physical book?

I am interested to know too. Read that we need to get IPAD for our child? Is it needed in Sec 1 and iPAD Pro ? (12.9??)

iPad only need in Sec 2.
My girl Sec 2 next year, I bought both ebook & physical book for her. but honestly, the girls seldom use their books, teacher will give them notes.

Actually no need to be gung-ho as the allocation is by pure merit and not by your choice ranking. So is ok to put nygh as first choice for a safe bet.

Or Maybe last year’s COP 264 was way too high? I’ve got 2 friends’ kids scored just below 260 this year. But last year’s high COP deterred them to put NYGH as first choice. Now they are in another all girls schools. If I got 258 or 259, unlikely I would put NYGH as 1st choice.

Those with 255+3 got posted to NYGH are both gung-ho and lucky!!

Sec 1 briefing completed and we reached home before 10am. Was ushered to park at Nanyang Girls’ Boarding House which DD will get to stay in year 3?


The new girls were seated according to their respective schools. Many schools came in large groups (>10). Tao Nan (TN) alone has around 30! Enough to form a class. Next biggest group after NYPS and TN was from Rosyth School and Pei Hwa Presbyterian.


Surprised to see many from Rgps, River Valley Pri, St Nicholas etc. Almost every primary school is represented
