so the same one..mine oso. last SA2 so last min. let's jiayou together rally behind them.

My older girl was shifted out of her class to the classes behind her level.

Younger girl remains in her own original class.

They will need the help and encouragement that they need.

        slmkhoo:

Starting this year, my main PT job is being formalised - now I have official working hours (2.5 days) and annual leave. Before, no-one monitored me as long as I delivered the work! I was the only one allowed that leeway, and it seems better to normalise my working schedule. Oh well, I am also covering some of the duties of a person who has left until we find a replacement, so being in the office more is better anyway.

Actually, you can switch to working full time? 5 days a week kind.

I was quite happy with the way things were - I delivered the work, and got to multitask at home, and only attended meetings twice a week. I worked strict office hours 2.5 days a week in another job a couple of years ago so the routine is not unfamiliar to me. I'm not keen to do FT as there isn't enough for me to do (unless I take on other responsibilities which I don't want), and I still take on the occasional freelance project, which I enjoy. My husband likes me to have more flexi-time to help my older girl when she runs into difficulties, though it's been happening less.

Good news for the day: she got her last semester results today - mostly B's and 2 B+'s - which we are very happy with. The way she described her exams, we were prepared for worse. But my other daughter says she must have been \"managing expectations\".

          Congrats slmkhoo

A gd start for your elder girl.

I envy your flexible working schedule. Mine is not possible and a colleague just tendered his resignation which means remaining colleagues hv to step in to work OT though will be compensated with Time-Off.

p5 is a steep learning curve...so it's understandable they had a hard time.
teachers at p6 would probably start pushing hard after CNY.
the weather is very humid...drink more water. jia you!

Had been pushing them for a bit during the first weeks of December after we came back from holiday.

Still not very focused and think that they are still on holiday.

slmkhoo, congratulations! you must be feeling very relieved…your girl seems to be improving alot and fast… think she will be quite ok when reached full maturity, then it will take off some of your worries, happy to know that.

wow, meaning school still shift the pupils around end P5 😓 both sisters not in same class in P5? how's their results usually..mine avg only..do they still guai guai listen to you on revisions? mine most time looking at her laptop when supposed to do revision..I m not 100% sure if all time spent is for revision. That's my worry as she got distracted before. That's I thought give her papers to do to check her progress..told her how abt do 1 paper today, time passes so quickly as after school, they spent hours outside till dinner time then say tired want to sleep early. Still managed to look at her laptop before going to bed..I hope studying.

Thanks. I'm not so hopeful - she has got used to university and is coping with the academic demands better now (1.5 yrs into her studies), which is good. But she still needs help and guidance when she faces new situations, and she still doesn't do well socially. I'm more concerned about those things, but I doubt much can be done.

Yes, once you get used to flexi-time, it's hard to go back to a fixed schedule. Especially as I can work and deliver without needing to be \"chased\" or \"watched\". But my workplace is not that rigid, and I can switch my hours around now and again if need be.
