KSP forum’s “subscribe thread” function serves this purpose very well. I learnt a lot from the veterans from this forum who shared their knowledge.zac's mum:
What’s the purpose of such a whatsapp group huh? Aren’t u all competitors? Why act friendly?

Lol. One advantage of a Whatsapp group is immediacy. You get information that you may need right away if it is shared. I suppose that is why people join these groups. There could be some kind souls who regularly post info.
Those people who join a specific year’s registration WhatsApp group - what useful knowledge can they share? Most are newbies asking each other equally blur blur. If they have the registration experience with their older kids, they are unlikely to care to post in the WhatsApp, since the younger kid will get in thru Phase 1. -
Hi,
My first timing using this chat group.
Can I ask regarding immunisation records, do we just need to produce health booklet with the page indicating complete list of immunisation for the child? -
heleninnovation:
Yup. Or you can print out from the online record. Login with your Singpass here: https://www.nir.hpb.gov.sg/nirp/eservices/loginHi,

Make a few copies just in case. -

Hello everyone,
I am new to this site and I am not an SC but a PR. We have a son who will need to register for P1 this summer (born in the year 2013). We live in the Newton area and all the schools near us seem maxed out way before 2C and even at 2C, SCs will take priority over PRs so it looks pretty grim on the probability for us to get into ACSJ which is just next door to where we are. Thus, we were then thinking of Bukit Timah Primary as another friend’s kid is there but that family is within 1KM and are PRs. We however, would be >2KM away and hence seems its needs to go for ballot.
I saw the historical stats for Bukit Timah Primary but I’m not really understanding it… does it imply historically, PRs has no chance since it seems all the SC in 2C fills up the space? Other primary schools that were suggested are Balestier and St Gabriel which is around the 10KM mark for us too.
So long and short of it, I’m trying to get some help to identify which primary schools are near us that would give us a good chance of getting in given we are Phase 2C PRs in order of good academic ranking… if there’s such a thing?
Please help this mummy get to grips with the Singapore primary registration and balloting trends so I can have a think what strategy and priority we should go for.
Many thanks in advance, E -

Your nearest school where PRs can enter without hassle is: Farrer Park Primary. Slighter further away (but still hassle-free) are: Stamford Primary or Bendemeer Primary. -
Yes. With the recent changes in the last 6 years, it appears that PRs have much more muted chances than before to get a local school. Of course if your kid is already in a bisexual school, it would be a breeze to get your 2nd child in the same school, but you must get through the first hurdle.
Staying in the Bukit Timah area is not ideal for PRs looking to get into a local school because even Singaporeans have to fight tooth and nail for the most popular schools there. Have you tried Bukit Timah Primary? -
Hi all,
Have been reading the forum on and off for last 2 years. This is the year to register child 1. We are fortunate to have options. Child 1 is girl, child 2 is boy from SG50 batch. If you are in our shoes, will you send child 1 to St Nicholas where there is affiliation to secondary? Or send both children to ATS for ease of transport and participation of school activities as it is co ed school?
TIA! -
Bubblygirl:
Assuming you can get both kids through the registrar phase comfortably, i.e. applying at Phase 2A1 for both, the transport / logistic issue isn’t a huge concern since both schools aren’t far apart. They are easily reachable by public transport (even more so after 2021 with the Thomson line as Mayflower and Bright Hill is only one station apart).Hi all,

The problem is: it’s hard to get into either school if you are registering after Phase 2A1. Even for Phase 2A1, there’s no guarantee that you will be free from balloting unless you are within 1km to both schools. Your boy also has to forgo any sibling priority in Phase 1 for his registration - an uncertainty and risk that you will have to take for SG50 batch.
If you can only register at Phase 2A2 and beyond, quite frankly, ATS is the only option because of sibling priority. Likewise, if you are > 2km from both schools, ATS would be the safer bet. -
Hi all,
I am staying at BoonKeng area. Anyone shares the ballot history for Hong Wen school last year?
What is the chance to get in HWS at Phase 2C for SC within 1km?
Thank you.
