bullies should be identified by their own parents. i identified my son being a bully and reined in his behavior before it could get ingrained in him

Kids who bully are smart to do it out of sight - toilets, gardens, outside gates (on way to & fr sch), cyberbully in FB or grpchats.

It’s wiser to hold coaching talks during assembly, teach kids self-defense outlets & resilience. Open access to counseling avenues in sch - buddy system or befriended, teacher counsellors, etc. Schools canninvite police servicemen as part of introducing law that protects students fr bullying cases & as a warning to bullies. Build a culture of non-tolerance to bullying with Principal’s endorsement & strict enforcement.

Parents shld keep close relationship & hv regular conversations with their child(ren) and know them well enuf to spot attitudes of bullying or spot temperament of being bullied.

School shld communicate with parents on school’s effort so parents can collocate closely.

Reading all these really make me hope that my children will not face bullying too, and if they do, hope that they not be afraid and let me know about it

Bullies are always bad. Shouldn’t be tolerated at all.

If your child is being bullied, it is important to address it right away. Start by listening and empathizing with what they are going through. Then, brainstorm ideas on how to best address the situation. Of course, reporting bullying that occurs at school is always the best option, but you want to be sure your child is onboard with that decision. The key is to empower your child to take an active role in addressing the situation rather than swooping in and trying to fix everything. Remember, bullying makes a child feel powerless. So, any way that you can restore a sense of power and self-confidence will go a long way in healing the effects of bullying.

Nim.0000, I hope also that no children will face bullying, but we must be aware of such possibility. And, what I find important is to explain to our children that this things may happen and teach them in advance how to react in such situations

Bullying is something we should take seriously. Bullying is not just happening somewhere but also cyber bullying is one of the biggest issue we have in our society right now and it’s affecting large percent of teenagers.

100% agree bullying is a huge issue.

And sadly adults too can be either a victim or bully. Or even both.

                      Bullying affects everyone.

When my son was being mistreated by a bully, I took a picture of the bruise he had been given. Then I called the principal of the school, since it had happened at school, and told him about it and that I was going to go to the police if it happened again. The principal talked to the bully, let him know that I took a picture and what was going to happen and the bullying stopped. If it didn’t I was going to the police and I would suggest that to anyone.
