Thanks for your replies. Any comments from those who had taken both Econs and history?
My DD took H2 History n Econs. In that year when she took her A levels, she used her knowledge from History for the GP paper.
What would u like to know?
Would like to know 1)which subject require more memory work? 2) my DD is able to do v well for history in sec school (however referring to my earlier post she is also taking bio and chem both are heavy in memory for a levels and also now we are talking about a higher level), is A levels history similar to sec school ? 3) is Econ’s easier to score compared to history? So she is considering to choose a subject of her interest like history or should she choose a subject easier to score like Econs? 4) what is required (language skills ...) to score well in these 2 subjects? Thanks! -

3) \"easier\" really depends on the individual. And many students find Econs tough, so whether it's \"easier to score\" is really debatable. For the more mathematical, non-woffly students, Econs is certainly easier than History, but some students would find History easier.
4) I would say History requires better language skills. Although both subjects are essay-based, I think History requires more argumentation and ability to express ideas.
Both subjects are heavy, but no A level subject is \"easy\". I think you are over-thinking this. -
I am curious if any JC allows Bio Chem Maths + History?
I understand Bio Chem Maths + Geog is usually allowed. -

Before you proceed any further, check if your dd's JC allows bio and history to be taken together. I know my dd's JC didn't allow it.

Oops! Then maybe I'm wrong as jtoh's daughter was from the same JC as mine, although different time. Yes, please check.

Do note that Bio and Geog are all very content heavy, not that other subjects are light, but contrary to what many think, Geog actually require quite a fair bit of memorising too.
