Depends on your exact location, you may not have many options for backup in Phase 2Cs.

May have to look > 2km, e.g. Farrer Park Primary School or Bukit Timah Primary School. -
Thanks much! I stay closer to the acs side. Was very heng to get my son into acs by luck. I am contemplating if I should just try rgps instead of scgs to begin with since the chances of getting into scgs is so low. RGPS will be more than 2km from my place. Any thoughts?

If you are more than 2km from RGPS, you will also be subjected to balloting. It’s not any better than your current option. If both have to ballot, may as well stick to SCGS. At least, you are guaranteed a spot in the ballot whereas for RGPS > 2km, you have to watch over your shoulder constantly in case < 2km turns up last minute and screw up your ballot chances.

Hi, I’m an Anglican church member looking to register my DS for St Hilda’s Pri, staying within 1km. Understand that at 2B, its usually oversubscribed too, may I know what are the chances of getting into the school and if doing PV would help?

Anglican - Phase 2B
PV - also Phase 2B
Anglican + PV - still Phase 2B
Hope that helps. -

Thanks! I'm aware of this. I'm curious on the history of balloting under 2B for St Hilda's. For balloting under 2B, does distance also plays a part? Anybody know any info for this? Thanks in advance.

Distance plays a part in every phase. Fortunately for you, SHPS rarely ballot < 1km in Phase 2B.

Hi parents, not sure if this is the right thread to ask. May I ask how does distance play a part in Phase 2B?
Example, if there are 20 vacancies in Phase 2B, and there are 30 applicants.
Out of 30 applicants, 15 pax stays within 1 km. Do all 15 pax get in straightaway?
Another example, if there are 20 vacancies in Phase 2B and there are 30 applicants.
Out of 30 applicants, 22 pax stays within 1 km. Is the ballot going to be held for 22 pax or 30 pax?
Sorry for the multiple questions. My child is registering next year and I am getting nervous too.!
