Hi parents, sorry I forgot to ask another question.

Is it possible to register for school 1 in Phase 2B, and say if i don’t get in, is it possible to register for school 2 in Phase 2C? Thank you!!

Hi parents, not sure if this is the right thread to ask. May I ask how does distance play a part in Phase 2B?

Example, if there are 20 vacancies in Phase 2B, and there are 30 applicants.
Out of 30 applicants, 15 pax stays within 1 km. Do all 15 pax get in straightaway?
          Answer is Yes

Another example, if there are 20 vacancies in Phase 2B and there are 30 applicants.
Out of 30 applicants, 22 pax stays within 1 km. Is the ballot going to be held for 22 pax or 30 pax?
          Answer is 22 pax

Sorry for the multiple questions. My child is registering next year and I am getting nervous too.!

Hi. This is my first post after joining KSP.

I have a set of twins : boy and girl. My kids are SPR and we stay within 1km of Ai Tong but based on past history, It is very competitive to enter Ai Tong even for SC.
              1) Should I forgo my Phase 2C chance to apply for Ai tong?

I am also looking to improve my chances.
              2) Hence, I applied for PV to Anderson, KC and Teck Ghee. Got rejected for KC. Still waiting for reply from Anderson and Teck Ghee. Which other schools should I try?
              3) Lastly, I heard Marymount Convent is good. Based on past record, it seems that Phase 2C does not require balloting in MCS too. Am I right? If I choose MCS, can you advice which boy school should I try to apply for my boy - that’s convenient to send / fetch?

              Thanks for your help!

Since your kids are SPR, you won’t qualify for ATS in either Phase 2C or Phase 2B. You don’t have to consider that school.

As for Anderson, KC or Teck Ghee, unless you get the PV / qualify for Phase 2B, you can eliminate them in Phase 2C for non-SC as well.

Honestly, for convenience, you may just want to consider Guangyang Pri if you live in Bishan. If you live on the Ang Mo Kio side, you can consider AMK or Mayflower Pri. These schools don’t ballot for Phase 2C and they are co-ed schools.

                  Thanks Floppy.

My fellow SPR friend chose Townsville in Phase2C(S) after unsuccessful application to KC. Just wondering which is better - Townsville, Mayflower or Guang Yang.

KC is Kheng Cheng right? Like ATS, Teck Ghee and Anderson, only SC can apply to the school; SPR won't even get a chance to ballot.

IMHO, it's no point wondering which is better. SPR should aim for a school that's:
                    1. Not too far / troublesome to get to; and
                    2. No balloting for Phase 2C
Because your choice would become severely limited in Phase 2CS, it's better to secure a place and not scramble last minute. Given that the 3 schools are unlikely to ballot in Phase 2C, pick the one that's most convenient for you?

KC is referring to Kuo Chuan as she stayed <1km to the school.

                      Thanks Floppy 🙏
What you said makes sense! I should make a trip to their school and take a look at which one I like. And register in Phase 2C to secure a place!

KCP or KCPPS would be the usual acronym.

I guess your friend is not familiar with the past registration history. KCP is open to SC < 2km only, SPR would never stand a chance.
