now when I cook chicken, I took off all skin…healthier and easier cleaning…oh is it homemade meatball in soup arh…maybe I try…but doubt they like it…as homemade meatball usually used to cook soup for mee hoon kuay/noodles…I bought chinese herbs in big packets…so when cook I take few pieces from each…yes kids like those soups…like old cucumber, abc, radish, lotus roots…those what we usually cook, they like…in fact that is what we mostly eating now…I used to like chicken feet but not really now as I find getting sick with chicken which used to be my favourite when young…few times I was thinking of using black chicken for herbal soups instead…dangshen, wolfberry, red dates all good hor I hope…now I even increase my danggui pian to 3 pieces…even for kids , usually will have chi herbs soup at least 2times a week and kids look like no problem taking danggui too.

          MKS,

I used to enjoy black chicken soup when young but I don’t cook anymore. Partly coz after marriage will spare DH of such 补汤. I’m the only one or MIL enjoying the soft chicken feet. Owise it’s only used to add to richness of soup coz DH avoids pork bones as he thinks too much fats & protein, after his father was told to abstain due to his chronic kidney issue. Even chicken feet he complain can see some fatty oil floating on soup. Just hv to tell him our body needs some level of fats but think of those as collagen.

After wet not purchases, will remove all fats if not kampong chicken fr under chicken skin. I still like the taste of chicken skin & so does my kids.

yes the chicken feet is fatty but oh so nice if we enjoy eating it…I think got lots of collagen too…

I add ‘duzhong’ heard good for kidney, yuzhu, beiqi, huaishan…I bought the ginseng also but as I always put dangshen…I somehow find it is probably either one not both together so got kept aside.

DH just informed that doc told him to abstain fr coffee, tea & chocolate. Sooo sad! I feel bad for him. Must ask if doc meant incl those Belgium chocolates with st least 65% or 70% more also must avoid.
