        Question:

Will you post your child to your alma mater - Chongfu Primary (phase 2A1) but distance is a 30 mins drive or will you risk balloting at a nearby neighbourhood school in queenstown which is a 5 mins walk away.

Based on 2018, there is a chance of balloting in queenstown. Don’t know if it is worth to take a risk in balloting or I should just aim for phase 2A1 which is a direct admission (hopefully no balloting this year).

        Thanks in advance.

Queenstown to Yishun / Chong Fu will most likely take you longer than 30mins and you have to keep up with this routine for the next 6 years :scared:

Quite frankly, you should look at shifting house if you want to go for Chong Fu.

Are we able to see the profile of applicant (SC/PR, distance)? Was thinking to monitor and register only on day 2 or 3. If we are able to see then will skip those oversubscribed school.

Nope. Such info is only released at the fancy of the school’s general office staff...

Was still thinking which school (Nan Chiau, Compassvale Primary, Springdale) to register under phase 2c (SC, <1km) since the 3 schools need ballot, just that take up rate for Nan Chiau is lower due to more applications.

Aside than that, worry MOE kindergarten will take up alot of space for Springdale.

I would like to understand if there is a way for us to see how many SC kids were born in 2013 who currently live in SG and will be apply for the intake of 2020?

I’m quite sure for NCPS, all applicants are SC < 1km as the school won’t accept applicants > 1km (there could be some who applied online, but they are just wasting their time). Hence, it’s safe to assume 99.9% of the number reported at the end of the day is SC < 1km.

For Compassvale Primary, you would probably need to make a trip down to the school to find out. That say, doubt SC < 1km will need to ballot. Ballot will most likely be for SC > 2km or for PR.

For Springdale, there won’t be any ballot. MK presence and eligibility for Phase 2A2 makes no difference.

If you want to ballot, go for NCPS. You want a safe option, go for the other two.

I can’t believe I have to go through this again after 13years. :yikes:

We are thinking to register the boy at Nanyang Primary school again (across the road from our home and grandparents home)
But have absolute jitters and nightmare about the balloting exercise for 2C
Daddy is an old boy at Catholic high.
What will you do if you were me?
Is it worthwhile to forgo a secured seat At catholic High (20 minutes drive )and risk the chance to go Nanyang (5 minute walk)
                        Thank you all opinions appreciated
