Wow but technically these 200 should by right be SC and within 1km right? In order to play the cards right.

Several HDB blocks around that area, so yeah quite feasible to have >20 SCs living there.

There are only a few blocks of HDB around NYPS. However, plenty of high rise / high density private housing with 1km so it's possible to have a lot of SC renting / owning a property over there.rugrats_pat\" post_id=\"1909445\" time=\"1557372163\" user_id=\"4219:Several HDB blocks around that area, so yeah quite feasible to have >20 SCs living there.

For springdale if MK filled up under phase 2A2, phase 2c will left with lesser vacancy is it? Because i saw there are 131 vacancy under phase 2c in 2017 but only 118 vacancy in 2018 and there are 46 places taken under 2a2 in 2018 (0 for 2017).
I’m quite sure for NCPS, all applicants are SC < 1km as the school won’t accept applicants > 1km (there could be some who applied online, but they are just wasting their time). Hence, it’s safe to assume 99.9% of the number reported at the end of the day is SC < 1km.rainsj\" post_id=\"1909322\" time=\"1557306196\" user_id=\"162160:
Was still thinking which school (Nan Chiau, Compassvale Primary, Springdale) to register under phase 2c (SC, <1km) since the 3 schools need ballot, just that take up rate for Nan Chiau is lower due to more applications.
Aside than that, worry MOE kindergarten will take up alot of space for Springdale.
For Compassvale Primary, you would probably need to make a trip down to the school to find out. That say, doubt SC < 1km will need to ballot. Ballot will most likely be for SC > 2km or for PR.
For Springdale, there won’t be any ballot. MK presence and eligibility for Phase 2A2 makes no difference.
If you want to ballot, go for NCPS. You want a safe option, go for the other two.
So is it with MK the vacancy in phase 2c will be affected?
Checked with Compassvale, staff said probably will need to ballot for sc <1km.
So based on this scenario seems like all the 3 schools need to ballot, should i try NCPS then? Or go straight for the other higher chance? -
Hi parents, just like some advice. Would you give up a phase 1 for space at a pretty decent co-Ed school to try for 2C ballot at popular single sex school?

I think the staff is pulling a fast one on you
Yes, Phase 2A2 does take away places for Phase 2B / Phase 2C. However, having 100+ vacancies for Phase 2C is A LOT of spaces left. Springdale will not become popular overnight, just because of MK presence.
In SK (or at least around Anchorvale), the first choice for most SC < 1km, especially if you are a Chinese, would be NCPS. Besides NCPS, the rest of the schools in SK are not historical school and are fairly similar. There’s no big difference if one would end up in Compassvale or Springdale or even Fern Green. Furthermore, given the availability of schools in SK, no one is likely to be left without a school < 2km.
Therefore, the most likely behavior for most SC < 1km is to go for the ballot at NCPS first. Failing which, one then move on to another school in Phase 2CS. However, if you are risk averse, you can pick the other two. That said, if you think you are going to lament about not trying for NCPS for the next 6 years, it would be best to at least give ballot a try. -

How old is your eldest or rather what’s the age gap? How far apart are the schools? What options are you left with in Phase 2Cs? Also, “pretty decent” and “popular” are relative terms - which schools are you specifically referring to?
Hi parents, just like some advice. Would you give up a phase 1 for space at a pretty decent co-Ed school to try for 2C ballot at popular single sex school?
Those are the important considerations before coming up with a yes / no answer.
