Gentle reminder: this thread is intended for parents to discuss how to help their kids improve their maths, and not for tutors to advertise their services. We will remove any direct attempt to advertise here.

You may be interested to contact my dd1 ex tutor (Miss Goh) at 93989072. An experienced and firm tutor who knows her stuff well. However, I think she only teaches in Jurong West.

hi my daughter is in P3 this year and have been doing badly for Maths, I am looking for a tutor who is able to assist. I am rather worried and truly hope to get assistance from parents who have engaged tutors who have assisted their kids to understand concepts and is patient.

              Thank you very much.

Are u still looking for Math tutor?
Recently I hired a Math tutor and she is really patient and motivating.

My daughter likes her a lot and began to develop an interest in Math and indirectly boost her confidence and her fear in those hard questions. She said the way this tutor explained made her understand the questions much easily as compared to her previous ones.

                  Hi fellow parents

A friend of mine recommended this app call Peakture. My daughter finds it quite useful as the answers are step by step and response is rather quick. There are also notes available on the app. Only thing is that it’s only for secondary and primary level. Hope it’s as helpful to you as it was for me!

                  Cheers

                    Dear parents,

I am a mum who teaches my children as well as giving part time tuition. Just would like to share some tips regarding Math. My student used to fail Math and English and dreaded Math especially but later do so well for these 2 subjects in just 5 months. Firstly, you need to find a tutor who is not only creative but also able to connect well with your child. There are some factors when you find tutor or assessment book:

                    Tutor
                    - Not to be too aggressive with marks
                    -To be patient and encouraging
-Needs to know syllabus inside out and basic child pyschology to motivate him or her

                    Assessment book
                    - Needs to choose one specially for your child
                    -Too challenging might kill interest.

Bear in mind, "branded"doesn’t mean anything. The style must go well with your child. And as a parent, never say things like "You are lousy or stupid". You have to believe in your child.
