MOE updated website. yes, it's 125 SC competing for 113 vacancies.

Hi Janet, where to get the info that there are 125 SC within 1km out of the 128 who applied as per moe website? tks

MOE website should be most accurate as of yesterday.
balloting has been conducted for SC all these years less than 1km.[/quote]

      Hi Janet,
MOE website never mentions how many SC within 1km though.
It is other parents who shared the breakdown number in the other thread.

Your info of \"balloting has been conducted for SC all these years less than 1km\" not fully correct.
At least for last year 2017 P1 registration, SC less than 1km not required balloting.

Result is out for sch that required balloting. APS and RMPS, SC within 1km need to ballot. ZDP and CHIJ, balloting for SC beyond 2km

Any parent here deciding or have decided between CHIJ Kellock and RVPS? Please share your thoughts. I’m undecided between these two schools.

If you stay < 2km from RVPS - RVPS.
If you stay > 2km from RVPS - CHIJ Kellock.

If you have girls only - CHIJ Kellock.
If you have both boys and girls - RVPS.
However, if you have both boys and girls, and stay > 2 km from RVPS - choose another school.

Lastly, if you are a non-SC - CHIJ Kellock.

Thank you floppy for your thoughts and advice!

I’m SC, staying 1-2km from both RVPS and CHIJ Kellock in Tiong Bahru. I’m currently leaning slightly towards CHIJ Kellock now as (1) my husband prefers an all-girl school, (2) impending construction around RVPS (3) CHIJ Kellock has a brand new school. Still undecided though.

Still undecided though. (I have a younger boy which I will try to put him in a boy school via Phase 2b in a few years' time.)
I'm assuming Phase 2B is via religious affiliation, same for CHIJ Kellock, as that seems to be the most logical.
If yes, do note that you don't have many safe or easy to enrol Catholic boys' schools to choose from nearby. Your nearest, SJIJ (?), happens to be one of the more popular ones and would definitely require balloting > 2km. Should you not succeed in the ballot, you will be back to Phase 2C.

If no, and you are looking at other Phase 2B options, you don't really have many options. Firstly, there isn't any boys' schools within 2km of your current location. Besides, most of the popular boys' schools and those nearest to you (e.g. SJIJ) don't accept PV and those that do (e.g. St. Gabriel's), are probably too far to be considered. Neither can you use GRL as an option.

Thank you floppy. If we pick CHIJ Kellock for my DD for 2020 admission, it will be through P2C and P2B via GRL for my boy in a few years’ time.

Hi all. I am checking the Primary schools in Bukit Merah region for my daughter’s admission next year. I saw that BRPS have DA (Development Award) for Character Development and National Education.

Even GESPR & ZDPS doesn’t have any awards at all, why still more popular than BRPS? Should I base on MOE awards as one of the factors to select? An unpopular school makes a parent think thrice.

personally, the MOE awards do not mean much to me.
