What kind of CCA placing? I thought CCA has started since beginning of the year? In fact I think sometime between term 3/4 in P2, some kids already starting to attend CCA after school.

i would like him to study in Qifa or Nanhua (nearer to our house), they are all between 1km-2km. meaning i will be in phase 2C for both?
questions:
1 - do i need to parent volunteer so that i can have a better chance to secure a place for him?
2 - when must we start doing?
3 - can we do for both qifa and nanhua?

Hi there,
Yes, your child will be registered under phrase 2C.

If you become a 40hr PV in the school,you will be eligible to register your child under phrase 2B. Usual practice in Qifa, the school will have limited spots for 40hr PV so that the chance of securing a spot under phrase 2B is extremely high. So far, all 40hr PVs have registered a spot successfully under phrase 2B.

As for registering under the PV scheme, you will have to start registering when your child is in K1(2019),giving yourself one year duration to complete the 40hrs PV duties before the P1 registration period in year 2020. If you enter the 40hr PV scheme successfully, you may begin to clock in the hours starting from July/Aug 2019 to May/June 2020. P1 Registration will start in the month of July, 2020 in your case.

As for fulfilling PVs duties in both Nanhua and Qifa, I am not so sure. Although I have heard of parents doing PV duties for two pri schools before but the schools concerned are not Nanhua and Qifa. You may find out more details by calling the school's general office. You are able to find the number on the school's website. You are also able to download the 40hr PVs registration form via the school's website.

I just completed our PV for 2019 registration. Just received our letter of completion. We applied in jan 2018, called for interview in june 2018 and received the acceptance email on 12 July 2018.

Here are some activities that we are offered to do :
1) library decoration for events
2) traffic warden
3) swim savers
4) sports days

The coordinator will email to all PV and we need to register for it. Basically they very friendly and will ensure we can clock 40hours before the P1 registration. Those already completed will
Not receive the email for new activities to give chance to those that haven’t clock enough.

Basically it was a fun and enjoyable PV sessions as most of the time we bond with the teachers and other parents, crack jokes …

The principal that interviewed us had left, now is the new one..not sure if still the same.
We will need to bring our kid along for the interview. The principal asked him some questions eg what he likes to do during free time, what he likes etc..basically chit chat with the kid.
As for us, they asked bout what we can do to contribute further to the school and some casual chats.

Hi parents, I am considering Qifa Pri for my kid. I would like to know more about the school. If you are a parent of a child from Qifa, can you please share your experience with the school? How is the learning environment like? Is it steered toward academic? How are the kids’ behaviour in generally? TIA

For most recent stats, must refer to MOE website.
As far as past years are like, definitely no chance for PRs under phrase 2C.
However, SCs staying more than 2km away have a high chance of balloting. For applicants who fall under this category had to go balloting for the past few years except one year, when the cohort size was cut down by one class, SCs staying within 1km to 2km had to ballot.
