Hi, does the statistics include distance? Like for eg for St Andrews Junior, there were 64 applied but only 48 got in. Does the 64 include applicants 1-2km and beyond 2km?

I am guessing that his data is collated from whatever statistics that are published on MOE’s website during the registration period. He managed to enter & save the data into his spreadsheet before MOE erased the info when each registration phase is over.


Such information would be the [U]total number of applicants (all distances)[/U] for the X number of vacancies.

It is quite impossible for him to have the distance breakdown for every single school in SG. Unless he is there in person monitoring the office of every single school in SG at closing time on the final day.

And even if he was there, not even all the schools were willing to release the distance breakdown.

Whatever distance breakdown you hear of, are only for those tiny handful of schools as reported by some generous KSP members.

Yes, it is not easy to compile that stats. Just remember that parents are free to quit and register for another school in a subsequent phase. The Phases are deviously complex. What is reported in Kiasuparents.com is the ground level scrimmage at a given time, which could be different after that data is passed through several rounds of summaries!

I went to the 2018 registration thread to check 2B for you. Definitely no balloting for Haig Girls in 2B. Not sure where his stats for applicants > seats taken came from. Human error?


I think the popularity of Haig Girls only shows up in 2C, where many PRs will apply. Or have they upped their game since then and started doing PV in large masses for 2B?? Perhaps you have some insights.
