Yes, you must be accepted as a member before the date. See MOE https://beta.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-registration/registration-phases-key-dates/ for Phase 2A1:[quote]You are a former student of your preferred school, and have signed up as a member of the alumni association before 1 July (YYYY - 1yr).
Your application won't be approved instantaneously. Depending on your alumni association set-up / constitution, your application may need to be verified and approved by the exco during one of their meetings. Some alumni's exco meetings are held monthly, others are held quarterly. Therefore, it is possible for you to wait up to 3 months before your application is approved. In short, there's a real possibility that your application may not make it in time if you have not heard anything by now. My suggestion would be to give the association a call ASAP.

Alumni exco members are volunteers and former students like you. I would not be surprised if they are not holding a meeting in June due school holidays (bringing kids out, etc).

You would probably need to check with your alumni association the following:
Starting date of membership - is it based on submission date (the date they received) or approval date (the date exco approved)?
If it's the former, you are in time to meet MOE cut-off. If it's the latter, you may be out of time if they are not meeting / approving by this week. If you withdraw, you will be push back to Phase 2A2. For some schools, Phase 2A2 is still relatively 'safe'.

                  Hi All,

                  My very first post 🙂
My girl is due to start P1 in 2021 and I’m considering my options now. Narrowing down to St Hilda’s and Haig Girls. Anyone able to share insights into these schools?

                  Thanks

First thing first. What Phase are you in and the distance priority you are in?

I’m 2.7km away from St Hilda’s (simei) and I was in St Hilda’s primary for about 2 years + I’ve now registered as an Alumni. I’ve no association to Haig Girls. Just think it’s a nice all girls school.

Hi guys, anyone can quip in? 🙂

How easy do you think access would be to St Hilda’s considering my situation and also what are your thoughts on Haig Girls? Anyone with kids in either school who can provide some feedback? Many thanks everyone 🙂
