It’s not surprisingly that the GEP student will find the 1st year in IP quite manageable, since IP is an extension of the GEP in terms of pedagogy.
My boy now year 1 at RI, was GEP student. Academic standard dropped at RI.
At pri sch he was stretched, but at RI he is not.
If your boy finds IP too easy, perhaps he can participate in the various additional value-added programs that the Sch offers such as the RA subjects. -

Anyone can share for Science DSA domain test, is one of the test a practical? Rather unfortunate timing, my boy hurt his arm (this morning :nailbite: ) and will have difficulties if the test is more hands on type. I think he'll be able to manage a written test, though he'll be a little uncomfortable. I just would like to manage his expectations and reassure him. He's . a little upset since its the only school he DSAed for. Thank you.
Edit:
RI's email stated that they wont be able to disclose type of test, so I'm unable to contact RI.
Pls PM, any help will be appreciated. -

We are not pining much hope as the boy was not in his best form and in discomfort. We actually preferred for him to stay and rest at home but he persuaded us to let him try. Looking at the sheer number of boys present at the selection test and the reality of the limited DSA slots was truly an eye opener and humbling experience. :salute: -
Ho sweetbaby, is this the first round of selection open to all who applied or only the shortlisted ones? Thanks.

Today testing are for shortlisted candidates. Next round, after further shortlisting is the invitation for interview. Experienced RI parents pls correct me if I'm wrong.

We want to quickly move on and help him recuperate in time for prelims. Maybe best we continue this discussion in the DSA 2019 thread instead.

No wonder RI was so packed when I went there to pick up my boy this morning.
Regardless of the DSA outcome, I hope the school managed to give your boy a positive impression. My boy, who is lukewarm about most things , likes the school very much. For that I'm thankful.
Someone mentioned that the probability of enrolling in RI is higher via PSLE than DSA. So all the best to your boy's DSA, as well as PSLE in less than 3 months' time. -

I'll pass the message along to my boy. It was a great opportunity for him to be able to set foot at the Yr 5 and Yr 6 grounds. I thought the Yr1-4 campus was already quite a distance to walk around.... now seeing the other half.... :scared: Overall, RI was very understanding and accommodating.
