The school within 1km is quite popular so should I just give up and go to a school within 1-2km but then not sure which school is considered good for that. Can’t imagine is so stress in finding a pri sch for the kids

Know your risk level if you want to try ballot.

I'm also within 1km of a popular school that ballots for SC <1km. The way I'm thinking about it is, do I like the 2C alternative better than the 2CS back-up and by how much? If same same, then might as well ballot for the popular school and see how. If the 2C alternative is much better plus has no ballot, then go for that instead.

(In my case, I much prefer the 2C alternative but it's a girls' school, and I have a younger son. We're also lucky enough to have a 2A option but it's 14 km away with bad peak hour traffic, so I dunno.)

You have 2 years to find out more about the schools around you and frame your decision flow.

For me is like ph 2c confirm ballot for SC < 1km then backup for ph 2cs maybe also need ballot for SC (for this I’m 1-2km) that y was thinking should I don’t try my luck n just go straight for backup sch

2 years to go. Anything can change from now till then. The ‘backup’ may suddenly experience an increase in popularity, necessitating balloting in Phase 2C or the Phase 2C school may not be as popular as before. No point getting stress over Phase 2C until next year or even until Phase 1 / Phase 2A is over.

Right now, the only decision to be made is whether to join PV / alumni / clan / adopt a religion or whatever. Other things can wait.

Pv tried but kana rejected and Guess is too late for other schools pv. Clan and religion don’t work for the sch coz NA for them so only left grassroots but then too late as well

Do u hv only 1 backup school for P2CS? If you are near bukit batok/ jurong east area, there are few relatively safe P2CS backup. But of course you have to be comfortable to consider those schools.

If you consider >2km, can give CHIJ OLQP a look. Recent years no ballot required at 2CS, also safer for 2C.
