When will we know when if balloting is required?
If u want to know for withdrawal purposes, better check with the school directly, before end of phase 2C.

If u already have your heart set on joining the balloting <1km, and u want to kaypoh the odds, like how many ppl going for how many seats <1km, then check with the school directly AFTER 4.30pm on the final day 1 Aug 2019. Cos MOE website update on 1 Aug 2019 will only show the total number of applicants (all distances, no breakdown).

If u already have your heart set on joining the balloting <1km, and you don’t care about the odds (because seriously, there’s nothing u can do about it after registration closes what), then all u have to do is wait patiently for MOE to update the website on 2 August 2019. That’s the day the website will reflect the categories for balloting.

SMS results will be sent to your registered HP number ~8am on Wednesday 7 August 2019, informing you whether successful/not successful in obtaining the place at xyz primary school.

Maybe cos “Valour Primary” has a very nice ring to its name? It sure stands out from all the other cookie cutter names in that area…

Let’s name all future schools with names that the come from our navy fleet like RSS Conqueror, Valiant, Gallant, Dauntless, Victory…

Call the school to check the applicants if you are <1km. Not surprising if all 52 are <1km, and more to come.

Yes, Valour Primary School does have a nice ring to it. Definitely better than another Punggol something or being named after a road name.

It’s confirmed / guaranteed / chopped that the numbers you see are 99.9% SC < 1km (I won’t rule out the possibility that there may be 1 or 2 > 1km blur ones who applied online).

Don’t bother about stats for Punggol schools. High density estate with a huge number of projects that sprout over the last few years, plus cookie cutter primary schools without distinct character at the moment (except MTS), there will be a lot of movement and changes year-to-year.

Expect a lot of movement as parents work out their odds and favorite / alternatives. For your reference, my old place in Punggol has SEVEN schools within 1km and SEVEN schools between 1-2km. So my (ex-)neighbors would have plenty of options and decisions to make 😂

Haha... my current place is 5 sch within 1km and almost 11 between 1-2km.... but choices still seems limited cos it seems all <1km heading for balloting... 😓

Hence, relax and wait for the dust storm from the initial disturbance to settle first. People with one or two options make up their mind very fast (no choice). People with too many options become confused (too many choices) 😂

No offence to anyone and Valour Primary but I find it surprising that 125 people (!) are willing to consider a school that cannot be seen (I’m actually looking at it right now), only been heard and with very little info available. Unless... these 125 people have some knowledge that we didn’t know.[/quote]I am also very surprised. However, I guess it is mainly cos Valour and Green are the only pri sch within 1km for those staying at the end of Sumang area... so since green is so fully booked, majority go for valour...

Notwithstanding, given that Punggol Cove is 92 for 122 and Punggol View is 78 for 121, ie their next 2 nearest schools in Punggol, I do expect some applicants for Valour will have a change of heart. Valour may be nearer but it’s not necessarily easier to get to. Should have some more movement over these 2 days.
