My daughter qualify for phase 2A2 for St.Hilda but I stay at Sengkang now. I wonder if it is worth the travelling distant from Sengkang to Tempinese or simply just enrol her to a school nearby.
Sengkang and Tampines aren’t exactly far apart. You should wake up at 6-6:30am to see for yourself the type of school uniforms on the road near you. You will be surprised I am sure of the lengths that some students go through each morning

          Newbie question:

Choosing between Junyuan and Tampines primary at the moment and notice that on MOE website that JY doesn’t offer higher mother tongue but tampines primary does. Is there any reason for that?

Dilemma in choosing the school now as both school are about equal distance from our place. CCA doesn’t has alot of diff as well.

Any advice or experience to share from gurus here? Thanks!

All schools at p5 and 6 will offer higher Chinese to the students who are able/keen.

More importantly, do you want your kid to start higher Chinese in P1?

Would prefer to have the option to have that.

It means for jy they won’t have option for kid to go higher Chinese class from p1, but tamp pri has that option from p1?

                Dear all kiasuparents members,

any recommended school in Sengkang for phase 2C supplementary? Currently left the following school for P2CS:

                - Sengkang Primary - 52 students registered
                - Northspring Primary - 56 students registered
                - North Vista - 56 students
                - Palm View - 97 students
                - Anchor Green - 66 students

We are staying in Compassvale road and we just informed by MOE that my kid’s P1 registration is unsuccessful. So just want to check with all the kiasuparents see the above primary school is the best option.

Compassvale Road not may be that long, but distance to schools still matter.

Palm View should be the easiest to get in (most places / least competition) and Sengkang Primary / North Spring the hardest (least places / most competition - will attract those who fail the ballot at Compassvale and Rivervale). That said, keep a lookout for Sengkang or North Spring. Go for the one without ballot.

Was unsuccessful in the ballot for poi ching. Disappointed when I have been living in the estate for 10 years but yet still can’t fight against the tampines north project folks. Can any parent advise if yumin pri is a good alternative? Thank you.

Understand your situation. But 10yrs or 10days, as long as it’s within rules, it’s a fair chance of ballot. Risk reward. As for 2CS, probably get the nearest and more vacancies schools to save in logistics and another balloting headache.
