This is something else i wanted to ask from all the experienced people here... Have heard many people who get selected in NUS, leave it for Raffles? Do u think Raffles is better than NUS? In what sense ?
I don't think it's a matter of which school is better.

Rather, it's a matter of which school suits the child more and whether the child will thrive in that school.

In any case, both schools are great schools. 😄

My daughter loved NUS open house and wanted to join since last year. But when I talked to other parents, all of them suggest to not select NUS cause. They all suggest Raffles as better choice. Cause of subject choice and exposure.

But when came to CO, if all 3 gave out CO, most GEP kids will choose for which?
DS year, 10+ went to RI, 10+ NUSH and the rest between RGS, HCI, NYGH, out of class size of 23. Boys will usually DSA HCI, NUSH, RI, girls NYGH, NUSH, RGS ...

NUSH wasn’t our (parents’) choice but my boy insisted that there’s where he wanted to go. IMHO, that was the best decision he ever made!

Same here, the best decision ever and it's OUR 1st choice (parents & kid) :celebrate:

DS said most of his classmates are aiming for RI, although many of them also applied NUSH as 1 of their choice. So his choice might also be greatly influence by friends too.

My first choice is other main stream IP school too. But NUS High is my boy’s first choice.

Wonder did I worry too much? Worried the pace is too accelerated and wonder if he can cope?

What will happen if he cannot cope etc?

Think so... think most GEP kids will prefer RI or HC. Trusted name!

This year, slightly more than half of my boy's class applied for NUSH. They are GEP students.

Hi all, Did they all selected for camp anf any interviews for them?

Same, NUSH is DS choice and RI is mom choice 😂

I think last year have more GEP students went to NUSH because of the change is DSA assessment.

In the end, we follow DS choice mainly because RI has like 400-500 students and by the time to JC will be like 800-900 students. Assuming each school could only provide good support to said 50-60 students ... in RI, will have to be the top 5%, in NUSH that is top 30% ... so we thought of unless confident to be in top 5% RI, likely NUSH is better (if the child interest is in Math and Science). ... our own logic
