      Dear all,

I have respond before but after looking at this forum for a while and I thought I will share my "opinion".

We , parents, have our own opinion. Some like and some don but our opinions cannot force on others. We can say only, if one wants to believe…they believe. After all, an opinion being repeated several times will make no difference.

We make up only 0.1% of the parents of the school. If you really want to know more about the school, go their Facebook.

The school got lots of parents volunteering to help out in various activities during school time. They are not forced to help out. They help out because they can and they want. I do not think parents will support the school if they are not pleased with the school.

As a parent we do not know how the teaching fraternity works. Hardly any teachers have left in the 4 years that my child has been there. My child shared that the teacher who taught him left as she was going back to NIE.

When my children come back, they tell me that they have homework, however, their homework has already been pre planned and mentioned to us earlier via SMS. Sometimes they bring home other pieces of work, that are work they couldn’t finish in class.

We, parents, shd make our own decision as we know our child the best and decide which sch is suitable. When selecting school for child, it is best that the parent has own right idea of school based on own expectations as each parent sees & expects things differently.

Teacher Clifford and so many other nice teachers left. Such a pity. Any idea primary school has someone trained in first aid? I think this school don’t seemed to have.

I have been a PSG for the past 4 years and had been quite updated with your concern.

In several breakfast chats, these questions were mentioned and answered.

You have mentioned teachers are leaving but do not seem to know why they left.

The teachers can leave for personal reasons such as medical, traveling distance, further advancement. So when the school do not reveal the actual reason, it will become the fault of the school where u can make a fuss over it?

So far, in my four years, I have noticed teachers leaving but not many. A few go and come is very normal and the school got no control over it. It is not fair to the school to keep harping on it.

Accidents do happen when students are playing and I have seen teachers attend to injured students and they have told me before that they were first aid trained. In fact, those teachers who are conducting outdoors education are first aid trained and they carry the first aid kit when we accompany them for their outdoor trips. The PE teachers are also first aid trained cos when I spoke to them during recess activities for PE games, they have mentioned it.

It is not right to blame the school unnecessary. The school has been trying and has been taking feedback. They are also trying so let’s give them a chance.

When I showed the p4 maths paper to my relative, a teacher from another school, i heard a lot of things about this school. Whether they are rumors or not, I am not here to say. But it is quite shocking.

So cheerleaders pls clarify this: Is it true that the teachers r often verbally abused? Is it true that the teachers r often yelled at, mentally abused? Is it true that the teachers cannot speak up? Is it true then that that was why the first vp quit? Other teachers quit?

Why is it like that? It is very sad to hear this. At the end of the day we r all adults, treating each other like this is not ok. my friends child told us has seen her teacher enter classroom with tears in her eyes. not sure what happened.

                    I respect your courageous post.

From what i've heard thus far, whatever you have said seems true about how the teachers are being treated. They don't have the freedom to speak to each other. Heard that they are being watched all the time. They need to behave in a certain way and constantly live in fear. The teachers are yelled at, treated in a very disrespectful manner. Very sad to hear such things.. especially in education sector where teachers are taught to be comforting and encouraging towards students but they themselves aren't receiving that.

                      Thank you Slyvia.

That goes back to the exam papers. Nobody wants to say anything because they will be scolded. no wonder the teachers during the ptm just keep quiet and say the same nonsense. lol. It is true and it is like that in many other organizations. People just keep quiet and let the wrong things happen because they dont want to get into trouble. I worked in several firms to know that when it is too strict, people either leave or people just suck thumb and do their 8-5. In the end, nobody benefits.

Yes, I heard there are spies in the school. They spy on the teachers and the parents and report back. We are probably being spied at. When I first heard it, I did not believe. But these are the stories coming out of the school, and from parents as well. :stompfeet:

Despite everything i have against this school, my child and my hubby and I like some of teachers there. But it saddens me that the teachers are being treated so badly. Then again, if the school shames children like that in the past, the teachers will not be spared.

This is my problem with this school and its cheerleaders. They are so willing to focus on only the positive things that all the very wrong things are being swept under the rug. In the process, people's lives get affected. Teachers' mental state get affected. Our children's mental state and studies get affected. For what?

Cheerleaders, can you pls address all of this? i hope we r wrong as always in your eyes.
