Hi all, apologies if I am asking a silly question. I've got a son and am looking at my options. If I stay within 1km of ACSJ and am also a member of the methodist church. What are my odds in securing my kid in the school?
I believe this year’s registration had 46 vacancies in 2B. And 65 people applied. Of these, 47 were <1km. The rest >1km wasted their chance because they were not qualified to join the balloting.

So balloting was conducted for <1km folks and 1 child got balloted out. Dunno if the parents tried again in phase 2C.

Thanks for your quick response. So I guess the odds of getting my kid into the school is relatively high since I stay within 1 km.

There was no balloting for 2B <1km for most recent 10 over years except for 2018 and 2019. It’s probably safe still.

Any parents here what does the school usually cover during the orientation day ?
Parents will be hearing the principal talk and have an orientation around the school campus.

While the kids will go to their assigned classes and meet up with the form and co-form teachers.

Parents can also buy school books and uniform that day as well and of course meet the school bus operators.

If you do not mind, can buy school books online and uniform at bibi&baba.

I analyze the trend as getting more popular in recent years. But yes, staying within 1km gets you a chance to ballot (if the situation enters into balloting mode).

Any reason as to why ACJS getting more popular? I’ve always heard that ACSP is the better primary of the both. Further, the vicinity of ACSP is more densely populated with condos vs ACJS’s area. Besides, anecdotally quite a number of my friends are also biased towards ACSP…

For busy working parents, this is the chance to measure up yr kids for suitable size school uniform, PE shorts but u’ll hv to know which house yr child will be beforevu know what color T-short to buy. Bibi-Baba runs out of shorts very fast. For us, we also buy at least 5 pairs of socks & 3 sets of uniform in case kids’ size changes very quickly. But for FTWP without helpers at home might want to get 4 sets to tie them over thro the week. ACSJ students usually wears the corporate T-shirt on Friday’s. Just sharing
