As long as there’s no ballot in that phase for your school.

Hi all,
If my child is admitted in 2C category not because of the home distance to school but because she is SC (the school 2C category only balloting for PR within 1km), can I move house to slightly further than 2km?
Anyone can advise? -

Yes you can move anywhere since your address was not used for priority admission, your citizenship was used.

Thanks Davischew for sharing the information.

curious:
I will get admission for my child in 2C as we are within 1-2KM of the school. Above 2km is being balloted.
So I guess we got in using distance priority.
We are planning to move in closer to the school (walking distance).
is moving closer (from >1KM to <1KM) also against the MOE rule?
as I understood the staying for 30 months at the original address is to stop parents from moving away, while they got the admission using the nearer distance. -
Moving within same distance category or nearer is fine

when does the 30 months rule start from? From phase 1 of pri 1 registration or from the phase you are applying?
Also, any prediction on when pri 1 registration in 2020 (next year) will be? thanks -

just estimate until end of P2 will be safe.
below is from MOE this year.
--------------------------------------
The address used for P1 registration must be on the parents’ NRICs.
If your address is successfully used for priority admission, your family must live there for at least 30 months from the start of P1 registration on 3 July 2019. If not, your child may be transferred to another school with vacancies.
----------------------------
Phase 1
You have another child currently studying at your preferred school.
Note: All children registered under this phase are guaranteed places in the schools.
KEY DATES
Registration at school
Wednesday, 3 July 2019 to Thursday, 4 July 2019 (from 8am to 11am and from 2.30pm to 4.30pm)

See https://beta.moe.gov.sg/primary/p1-registration/home-address/. All your queries are addressed there.

P1 registration more or less follows the same window year after year. The answer to your second question will depend on which phase you are talking about.
